For years we who’ve been customers at Letoile in Jenkintown have all been subject to the disorganization and utter nastiness by the managers as well as some of Letoile’s ‘stylists’ I’m 56 years old have been to several salons within those years and never have been so disgusted and angered by their disrespect towards both new as well as long time customers. It’s never fun or easy to find a new salon and that is the reason I went there as long as I did. For years Letoile did not accept credit card payments, only cash or personal checks. Later they began to accept credit cards after so many customers complained Fast forward 2019…Accept credit card payments but add a 3% up charge added to your bill. 3% of $190.00 or $250.00 is a nice little chunk. Letoile needs to benefit back from credit card fees at the expense of their customers.. At my last appt. I paid by credit card but was not given a receipt which I realized after I returned home. I phoned Letoile spoke the w/ the ‘manager’ and asked to have my receipt mailed to me. She replied that once a charge is tendered she cannot get a receipt. It’s a tactic when when they charge you more than the total of your bill to purposely try to get away without handing a receipt to the customer. I promised never to come back for all of the reasons that so many people have stated in their reviews of Letoile. The other day I was phoned by one of the owner’s personal assistant. The owner has not been well so he asked her to convey his message to me while he spoke in the background advising her what he wanted offer me. The message was, we will credit you up to your charge of $190.00 and that I can use that amount at the salon if I’d come back. I was also promised that Letoile would issue a refund check to be mailed to my home for the 3% up charge as well as promising they’d never charge me the 3% again. Today I received ANOTHER phone call at my home from the ‘manager’ who is the ‘manager’ who everyone has been a victim of by her nastiness and disrespect. She advised me in her nasty tone that she would not be issuing me the credit or the refund and that the salon owner’s assistant had no authorization to offer me what she did. I spoke with the owner’s assistant while the owner was in the room with her advising what he would like to do for me so not to lose a long time customer. So now the ‘manager’ who never is nice or has ever been friendly believes she is above an owner. Talk about narcissism. I made a complaint to the Pa. Atty General’s office b/c refusing to give a credit card payment receipt is just not allowed.

Dennis is an excellent stylist and will work to give you exactly what you want. He is also a kind person, and it is a pleasure to get a hair cut with him. The salon itself is larger and noisier than I prefer. The plus side of that is they offer hair, makeup, nails, and a small selection of clothes and jewelry all in the same spot.

EVERYONE at L’Etoile couldn’t be nicer,and VERY GOOD at what they do. I had my hair blown and Flat Ironed. For the first time in my life I actually liked how my hair came out. Everyone keeps telling me it’s the best I had my hair. I have typical “Jewish” hair. Very thick and curly. I tried everything that came that both came on the market or brilliant ideas we thought up. Nothing helped! I had driven one of mom’s friends to L’Etoile and in speaking to them they told me that they could flat iron my hair. The rest is nothing short short of a miracle!! I would give them a thousand stars if I could!!! Should be number 1 salon in the country !!

First impression- this place is absolutely enormous and kind of tacky. When I sat down at the stylist’s chair, the first thing I noticed was an “I’m deplorable” pro trump bumper sticker on her mirror. Regardless of political affiliation, I see no reason for a hairstylist to advertise it. It made me very uncomfortable. I considered walking out, but my head was sopping wet since I’d already been shampooed. During my haircut, I overheard some of the other stylists talking about how their children would be so much better behaved if it were legal to beat them. I believe they were half kidding at best, again it made me uncomfortable. After having my hair cut, and blown out, it looked fine. Now, a few days later, it does not. The ends are extremely blunt. The stylist used thinning sheers on my bags and really went nuts with them. I actually asked her to stop, she would have kept going, but now I’m realizing I should have asked about 30 seconds sooner. My bangs are (were?) long and sideswept. Now, some of the pieces are 3-4 inches long, and some are as short as 1/2″-1″. Obviously, I will not return to this place and would recommend against it. Yikes!

Went here a few years back. They completely destroyed my hair. It then took me a very long time to finally repair the damaged they did. Bleach after bleach. When all i wanted was a shade or two lighter then what i had. Ended up being there for almost 8 hours.. And cost me over 400$..

I was a customer there for 12 years but I will never ever come back. On January 18 my coat was stolen from your salon and the people at the desk were unhelpful and uncaring. I asked them to call their clients that were in the same area I was at but they didn’t even care but yet the prior year there was a new employee at the desk and they made some error with my payment and the front desk was very quick to call and make sure that I had paid. So business like, profits before customers. They had no problem calling me 10 min after i left the salon. My coat was stolen by someone in your salon maybe an employee or a customer but nothing was done by management to help. Sorry salon letoile you will never see another dime of my money or several of my friends who I recommended to come there because you truly only care about about your greedy selves and your profits.
