Simply amazing! The stylist here are always friendly, professional and smiling. They take pride in what they do and it shows. My kids love coming here to get their hair done and no matter what the staff are always accommodating. The salon is always clean and very kid- friendly. I have no worries when I drop my daughters off to get their hair done. The stylist here truly love what they do! Definitely the only establishment I would recommend for kid services.

I’ve been a few times. The staff are very friendly and the salon is clean and comfortable. My first visit was perfect… young lady did an expert job of my braids. The last two times ( which included a service today) I wasn’t completely satisfied but a different stylist did my hair. I’ll go back but I’ll be patient and make sure to book with the first young lady that did my hair. Just make sure the stylist you pick is someone you know understands your desired outcome.

Aja looked at my hair and gave me sound advice and options to heal my hair. I am loving ❤️ the results. I am glad that I learned about Salon Journey from a friend. My daughter is very sensitive to getting her hair styled (‘tender-headed’). That has not been an issue since going to this salon for her braids, twists, and trims. She has enjoyed the experience since the salon is child-centered and they are very gentle with her hair.

Best silk press ever! Let’s just say if I lived here my whole family would be coming to Salon Journey. The service was excellent. The owner Asa greeted me as soon as I walked through the door and sat me down at a shampoo bowl. The stylist I had was Zaniah. She was not only good she was fast, vey polite, and professional. The shop was clean and well kept. The atmosphere was very family friendly they had shows and movies that were age appropriate for the kids and even what they played for adults was still family friendly. The prices were good as well. I didn’t come for braids , however the customers getting braids hair looked excellent. I would definitely come here for all my hair needs. **Pictures below my hair a week before the silk press and my hair after.

Aja always does a wonderful job. She’s done my daughters hair for years and mine many times. She is professional, her work is neat, and I never spend hours waiting. Our hair always looks great when we leave the salon. I highly recommend Aja and Salon Journey!

Ms. Aja very professional and the establishment was clean and well organized. I was hoping for a better outcome because we were in search for new salon. The experience was not good being our 1st time there. The quality of the braiding for my young adult was not good, there is absolutely not good that I can say. I am so very disappointed. The service was for small knotless braids ($265). The braids appear to be medium for my standards, however Ms. Aja explained that different salon have different version of what they consider as small braids; didn’t know that was a thing; so I will definitely start asking any salon what is their definition of small braids. I may experience over the years when you getting individual braids the parting of the hair are box; maybe there are different takes on parting also. The parting of the hair was all over the place. I provided pre-stretched hair, why did the stylist feel it was necessary to cut the hair. I am thoroughly confused by this. The description of the service states that braids pass the waist would be an additional charge. I make this point because she wanted her braids to come to her waist, however the stylist never asked and it’s nowhere near her waist in length. I can’t imagine that she is a professional braider based on the outcome of my daughter’s hair. The 3rd picture was my expected outcome just a little shorter. I have no issue with paying for good customer service and quality work. Our last braider had quality work but poor customer service and I refuse to continue to pay someone that has no customer service, I don’t care how great the work is. Ms. Aja has great customer service but the quality of work by this stylist was unacceptable. My daughter will be off to college to start her freshman in a few days, she already very nervous about this transition and this experience has just added to it. She is very unhappy with her hair. She will be taking her hair out in hopes to find a braider in NYC.
