I had forgotten what a good haircut was like. It just hasn’t been my top priority. Because I’m in graduate school. So I’ve been going to these really cheap places which still somehow end up costing me and the haircut looks maybe, a little bit, kind of, sort of, So so okay when I leave. By the very next day, however, it’s unmanageable and it grows out disastrously. The moral of the story is we get what we sign on for in life. Right?

She walked me through different options that I thought fit me best, let me walk around with that idea for a day and then got me in the next morning to do it. I have been going to the same hairstylist for almost 15yrs but as I moved to SF it started to get very inconvenient to drive to Redwood City. My friend recommended this salon and told me to book an appointment with ED. He did a really good job with my color and trim and what makes it amazing he’s located across the street from me. ED was super friendly and made my hair come back to life.

Trish, the owner of Salon Flux, is highly skilled hair stylist, she can do anything you might need and she does it with mad style. I first came to her in 2011 because she was in my neighborhood. Since then, everyone in my family comes to her and I drive across town because she’s THAT good. My husband and his two sons have been loyal patrons for six years, and one of them lives in New York. She’s honest, beautiful, won’t try to sell you products unless you really want them, and then shes happy to make a reccomendation. She’s friendly and very fashion forward, always staying on top of what the industry is currently offering. I higly reccomend Trish at Salon Flux, shes worth it!

I went to see Ed Rittenhouse for a hair cut and colour. I wanted a pink ombre. I had a really great time and he gave me great advice on what to do with my hair. However, he didn’t warn me that the pink color wouldn’t last very long (otherwise I wouldn’t have spent $125 on it). When I texted him after 3 washes (with the color mostly gone), he offered to re-do it so I came into the salon for that. However, his attitude changed completely and it was obvious that he wasn’t very happy I brought this issue up. He was also late both times (each time telling me to go get a coffee nearby and come back), second time by about half an hour or so. Whilst he was re-doing the pink (supposedly adding some magenta to make it last longer), he told me that for some people it lasts 2 weeks, for some it may last 3 weeks or longer which was complete news to me. Again, the color only lasted 3 washes (and I bought a special shampoo for coloured hair) and when I asked for a refund, he started claiming that he told me about that the first time itself and I supposedly said I didn’t care (which I absolutely would have never said). I’m very sad about this because I love my haircut but I feel I’ve been misled and ended up spending a lot of money on something that didn’t last very long.
