Critical: ProfessionalismI booked with Lauren by mistake for a cut and color on the website.Lauren:. “You don’t remember me? You gave me a bad review. I cancelled your appointment.”Booking more than two weeks out, she cancelled my appointment without a phone call to either give me an opportunity to book with another stylist or another salon. She just cancelled via email without explanation and I did not know the email existed until I arrived for my now cancelled appointment.When I arrived for my appointment, Lauren reminded me I gave her a negative review THREE years ago for bad service; I had forgotten until she reminded me and I now remember she was overtly distracted by her phone, and my finished hair color was nothing close to what I asked for. In fact, I had never had such poor service in an upscale salon prior to or since that day.I was returning to Salon Envy in hopes of booking with the fantastic stylist I had before who I am told has since retired.A phone call to reschedule should be par for the course in an upscale salon. At Salon Envy, it was not and it cost me a 45 minute drive, an afternoon, and time that I could have booked with another stylist.If Lauren was busy, she could have very easily had another stylist reach out to me to schedule the service.There are better stylists and more professional salons that will get my business.From 3 years ago and why she cancelled my appointment without proper notice. 3 years agoI have been to Salon Envy before for a cut and color. Always was satisfied and decided to return.This time my appointment was with Loren. In describing what I was looking for I showed her pictures of what I ultimately wanted but needed a little length.The color, a gray with a touch of lavender, she said she just could not do. She said she would have to strip my hair and she did not seem willing to do that.Having been blonde over the summer, I explained that if she could not do what was in the picture, that I would be happy with warmer under tones. I suggested a foil and that too she dismissed.She pulled out a sample book and showed me a dark almost black color, (*how do you go from grey/ blonde to almost black?) and I immediately said no! I said I did not want a drastic change and I did not want any red hues.With her insisting that an over all color would still have high and low lights I agreed to a sand color. She argued that it would be blonde too and I told her it is warmer than what I had and was okay with that shade of blonde.Loren mixed the color. Slapped it on my hair, spoke very little. Offered me coffee and a magazine and disappeared while my hair processed.She never checked on me again, unusual from my past experiences.When the time was up, she rushed out of the back room, rinsed my hair, and it was EVERYTHING I said I did not want. Solid, dark, almost red auburn color. Even the stylist across from me seemed surprised at the result.I went home to see if i would like it once I freshened my make up. It is too dark. I called to have it corrected, but became frustrated when she told me I would need a picture.I had a picture, swatches, described a color between my natural color and the summer lightened color I had, and she did not hear me.
