Not only did Shawn nail the cut, he also styled my hair in a way that I didn’t even think was possible for me. I got Japanese hair straightening done by Claire. As you can see from the photos my hair was damaged. She left the product on my hair too long and did not do the knot test during treatment to see if my hair was done being processed which resulted in over processing and frying my hair. I had just cut off about 12” of hair a few weeks prior to coming to Salon Aveo. My hair was super healthy and all natural, hadn’t even straightened my hair in over a year. When I sat down in the chair Claire asked me if I wanted a haircut and I proceeded to tell her that I just had it cut etc and no I do not want it cut. After the treatment was completed and she was blowdrying my hair before I left she cut off another 2”!!! Why? Because she damaged the heck out of my hair, so without asking me if it was ok and telling me her mistake she just cut it off and then CHARGED ME! $30! And as you can see from the photos it was a mess! My hair is completely uneven and way too short for my liking. I drove 1.5 hours to the salon so it’s not like I could go back and get it fixed after I realized it once I got home. I regret not waiting for the other stylists schedule to open up.

I dyed my hair special color this Aril here. Out of appreciation for my color specialist CK’s hard work, I left a generous amount of tip (around $100). But later I got home and found out my shirt collar was bleached and ruined, but no one mentioned it to me at the salon.

I never write public reviews, but this was ridiculous. I got a keratin treatment planned around my wedding shower so I could wash it out the day of. I got in the shower and got it wet, and the smell was so strong that I had to shower with my shower door open because the smell made me nauseous. I shampooed it 4 times and conditioned it twice. I scrubbed and left the product in for minutes each time, and spent a full hour in the shower. The smell is so strong that when I touch my hair, I need to wash my hands with soap. I called the salon and told them. The owner called me back and said all they could do it a clarifying shampoo or scalp treatment. I can’t go in today because I need to leave for my wedding shower. They can’t get me in until Thursday because of my work, and didn’t offer to accommodate in any way. I said both of those things would also rinse out the treatment, and asked for some sort of refund then. The owner said he couldn’t do anything and washing it with a clarifying shampoo would have the same impact as washing it with paraben and sulfate-free shampoo, which is completely illogical. The point of clarifying shampoo is to clear the hair. I said there was clearly something wrong with the batch they used, and he said this has never happened before. I said that’s why something is clearly wrong and abnormal. So now I’m afraid to hug family at my shower because the smell is so bad, and I’m left SOL with a $250 trip to the salon. Horrible experience. Be advised about getting treatments done here.

Needless to say, I was very impressed with not only my hair cut/digital perm, but the outstanding service. Everyone was so sweet and kind, and I felt well taken care of. Claire was my stylist, and she knew exactly what she was doing. They do speak both Korean and English (in case people wanted to know), and the prices are typical for the services I received. I am very pleased and have gotten several compliments about my hair! The perm is holding up perfectly after my first wash. and I already recommended this place to a friend who was interested as well.
