My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Port Clinton and met the owner of Salon 53 at a local restaurant; after visiting for a while and asking about our plans for the next day, she offered to schedule a massage for myself and a facial for my wife as a wedding/honeymoon gift to us. She was able to get us an appointment at the same time for the next day, and our experience was nothing short of excellent – my massage was so rejuvenating and relaxing, and my wife said her facial was just as great! Everyone at Salon 53 was so kind and friendly to us; if we lived in the area, this would be our go-to salon! The owner’s kindness and generosity and the staff are reason enough to support this salon, but their service is just as outstanding! Thank you, Salon 53!

I had pretty interesting experience at this place. I had IBE hair extensions with Cherise Thompson where she quoted me for 8 wefts $130 each based on my hair thickness plus $500 for install for total of $1540 (without the tips). When I went to the appointment for the install she end up using only 6 wefts and she told me that the extra 2 wefts will stay at the salon, but I still paid for all 8 wefts. When I went for my move up I requested additional weft to be added to my hair and she told me that she didn’t have any left for my length…I’m thinking like what??? she found different hair one piece that was completely different color and length but she blended and it looked good. My question is if I paid for all 8 pieces, where do the other 2 pieces go? After about month I told her that I no longer want to do this type of extension as my scalp was not happy and I decide to take the hair down myself and I asked if I can go pick up the last 1 piece of hair I had left at the salon. I traveled one hour to go pick up the hair. She had it ready at the front counter just one piece of hair no bag no nothing. I put it in my bag and when I got home and took it out of the bag OMG the quality and texture of this hair looked and felt absolutely awful!!! Also one side of the hair was already cut and layered which means this is used hair!!! I took pictures and I messaged her and she never responded to me. Long story short if you are interested in hair extensions do your research and ask for proof where she actually ordered the hair from, because there is no paperwork or case or anything to show the company name. Also if you pay for more hair than what she end up using DO NOT LEAVE IT THERE!!! You paid for it and it’s your right to take it with you!!! I think what she is doing is quoting people for more hair, then the extra hair stays with her and she is using it on other people, otherwise why would she not have any pieces left from my hair when I requested extra piece added on the move up??? Quick tip… find someone with cosmetology license and order your professional hand tied extensions for 40%-50% cheaper

We were staying at the Easy Harbor State Park and I really needed a haircut. We had been traveling for nearly a month. Went to a local cafe and a lady who worked there had the cutest haircut. Asked her for a good salon recommendation and she recommended this one. Wendy was my stylist and was excellent! So glad they were able to work me in (she had a cancellation) and so pleased with the cut. They make you feel very welcome.

I see Bridgett for chiropractic care every 2 weeks. She’s the best in the area, and the only female chiropractor might I add. I have also had my hair cut and styled here, Sydney was my stylist and she did fantastic work. Highly recommend this salon. My next visit I will be checking out the massage therapy.

Critical: ProfessionalismI had an appointment that I had to cancel due to an illness, I then received a call that I owed $47 for the cancellation! They informed me that there was a 24 hr cancellation policy. When I made the appointment, I was not informed of this. I canceled 3 hrs short of 24 the day before. I made the appointment in person at the front desk and was shown a waiting list for appointments, so I don’t feel that they couldn’t fill the time slot.The individual that called had only the words can I have a card number to pay this ridiculous amount for cancellation.I would not recommend this business to anyone, as it seems they only want your money!!I had an appointment that I had to cancel due to an illness, I then received a call that I owed $47 for the cancellation! I was traveling through OH and desperately needed color touch up, foil and cut. I called and they were able to work me in the next day. Lisa is awesome! Great color, great cut. The atmosphere was very nice and they were very welcoming. Offered lemon water or coffee. If I lived in the area I wouldn’t hesitate to drive miles out of my way to do business with this salon.
