Nice, friendly people but didn’t listen to what I wanted. I had really long hair, and normally I donate it when I get a haircut. This time, I wanted to keep my hair long so I elected to not donate because I didn’t have enough length to donate and keep it at the length I wanted. When I sat down, I told them what I wanted, and they used a hair buzzer to hack it off, which is normally fine, but they didn’t do the small ponytails or anything to make sure they were cutting my hair off at the length I’d asked them to. It was hacked off too short, then trimmed even more, so now it’s 3-4 inches shorter than what I asked for at the beginning. My haircut looks fine for what it is, but for what I’d asked for, it looks nothing alike. The stylist cutting my hair was apologetic, and I appreciate that, but that doesn’t really fix my hair…

I was looking for a quick fuss free haircut in Chapel hill and I am glad I found this place. Needed an appointment within a day or two which is almost so hard to find! They were able to get me in the next day, Taylor did my haircut. She completely heard me out on what I was looking for in terms of a haircut. I did go in with a pretty vague description except that I wanted to keep it simple. The price point was also much lesser than any of the salons in the neighborhood for pretty much same quality of work. So why would I go to a more expensive place ? Will totally go back for my next haircut.

I scheduled an appointment a few days ago and got my haircut the very next day! The receptionist was nice on the phone and in person. This is a very laid-back salon, small but sunny with windows to Franklin St. The prices are AMAZING for what they offer (I gave a tip, but wasn’t pushed to do so, and my cut was $42). The clientele isn’t just women, I saw a guy in there and I’m sure they do gender-neutral cuts too 🙂 My stylist was Taylor, and I love my cut! She was efficient, but also willing to take some extra time to take a bit more off when I decided I wanted that. I was out in less than an hour, which is great considering I used to go to Aveda (to save money) but I’m very impatient lol. (Aveda is fine if you’re not picky but takes at least 2 hours since it’s a school.) Parking isn’t amazing on Franklin, so I biked, but you could try the garage back on Rosemary too. There’s a single bike rack right in front of the studio and a couple more one or two shops down.

I came to Chapel Hill and stayed longer then expected so I needed a cut and color. My four daughters thought I was crazy to go to a random place but it was the best experience I could have!! My first visit, and I got a great styling and haircut from Jennifer! she spent a lot of time to get it just right, never rushed, and was very friendly and professional. She is very knowledgeable. The price is very reasonable, esp for such a good cut.

I moved to NC about a year ago, but still hadn’t established a hair dresser. To be honest, I would wait to get my hair cut or highlighted when I return home for vacations. After many bad hair cuts over the years, I have become very apprehensive about trying new stylists and salons. After a lot of research, I decided to try Salon 135. I got an appointment the same day with Lindsay. She was really great. She asked me what I wanted and discussed the pros and cons of the different cuts. Her advice was really useful and showed that she was very knowledgeable! She did a great job with my hair and listened to what I wanted. She even took time to curl my hair with a flat iron b/c I had mentioned earlier that I liked to curl my hair from time to time. She didn’t need to take that extra time (about 20 minutes) to curl it, but she did. And I didn’t get charged for it either! I will definitely be a return customer.
