The Owner Tam is extremely flexible and caring, I originally wanted her to style my nieces hair (at the last minute) and she tried really hard to squeeze her into her schedule but ultimately could not, Tam did recommend another great stylist that works in her shop, her name is Elydia.

The stylist left relaxer in my hair. When the issue was brought to the owners attention she did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue, but pass the baton on to the stylist, who then called me and left a long message as well as texted me a long message. I responded to the stylist. She read my message, but never responded. I would never go back to the salon!

Critical: ProfessionalismThis review is no reflection on this hair salon as a whole. I’ve visited here on and off for years. I called this morning with some very basic questions and was met by Cam/Pam who was very short and rude and also hung up the phone on me. When I called back to ask for a manager she told me they were not in so she was the manager and hung up again. After I told her she was being highly unprofessional. This is a good place to get your hair done, however the representation today was poor and Salon 10 needs to know. Those that answer your phone snd meet customers at the front desk represent your business please make sure it’s the representation you want to show.This review is no reflection on this hair salon as a whole. I called this morning with some very basic questions and was met by Cam/Pam who was very short and rude and also hung up the phone on me. Time means nothing the shop owner. She got there 23 minutes with only one stylist and 4 people waiting. She was saying she had to take her husband and daughter some place that’swhy she was late.I calledan my appointment was @10. I sat down waiting for someone to do my hair. I went in there and planned to just get my hair blow dryed and flat ironed. I had just got a perm this morning and washed and conditioned it myself. The lady said they had to rewash and condition and blow dry it. My hair was still wet all I needed was for it to be blow dryed. But I let them do it. Then I was getting my hair flat ironed and it looked crazy. I had straight hair on one part, curly on the other and then when we were almost done she said she didn’t like it with the flat irons and got more then started on my hair all over. After she was done it was puffy and just everywhere. I just got a perm that morning reminding you so it should of been flat and shiny. I paid $25 for that. I did want to say something there but I’m 17 and I didn’t want to tell the stylist I didn’t like it. My mom insisted that we go up there and get my money back. But I’d rather it be less messy and just write a review for other customers to see

If you are natural or transitioning, stay far away from this place! I am 6 months in, transitioning back to natural. I visited this salon because I needed a blowout and my regular lady was booked. The “stylist” that did my shampoo and flat-iron was unprofessional, and it was apparent that she was uneducated in caring for natural hair. Firstly, when she washed my hair she roughly raked the comb through my already detangled hair, which is a big no no for natural hair, especially transitioning hair. She was also very rough with the blow dryer. She burned my scalp too many times to count, she told me my hair was “in really bad shape” when she was blow drying it, then was so suprised at how soft and bouncy it was at the end! Oh and she used a straightening comb but I still have relaxed ends smh. If you can’t tell, this was the worst experience I have ever had and I will DEFINITELY not be returning! 1 more thing, I’ve gotten better results doing my hair myself, the next day my roots were puffy.

Well my sister went to get a wash and set and they did a terrible job as we did not read the reviews before we went and that was a big mistake seeing that my sister have not had perm in 9 months she basically in transitioning stage. She asked for a wash in set everything was puffy she was so upset because its the hairstyle she has to wear for her graduation ceremony and to put the cream on the cake they charged her 3 different prices 15 , 20, and 25 dollars i guess the price went up because she felt like she did so much on her already when her hair still looked the same way when she came into the salon 10. She had to pay a extra five dollars for taking out the rollers on her head and a wrap which i thought everything would be included in the price she had given us. Lesson learned read the review before entering salon 10

I am a licensed cosmetologist/ instructor and I have been employed at salon 10 for 7 years. I have never had any problems with either owner. I can say we have a pretty decent relationship with a very mutual respect. I am happy that these women have provided a place for us to make money to help support our families. As far as the clients, I am learning to weed out the good from the bad, and that all money is not good money. I have had some awesome returning clients, and I have encountered a few people that are difficult by Nature. I say this because they go from Salon to Salon being difficult. I can say I’ve had way more good than bad. I had a client that came in the salon on Sunday. She bought her daughter for a blowout. Her daughter was very terrified of the heat so the whole time her daughter is sinking down in the chair as she is getting her hair straightened. This was a problem because I was not able to perform the job proficiently. The child’s mother was not there. I asked the child had she been burnt before by another hair stylist (Not a Salon 10 stylist) and she said yes. This resulted in her being scared, and me not being able to sufficiently style her hair as needed so I did the best I could with what I had. Her hair was natural and her Roots needed to be pressed. This could not be done due to her moving and squirming with me trying to avoid burning her. Her mother claimed to be satisfied and actually tipped when she left. Her complaint was later on when she decided to take it to the internet. I am all for being fair and if she had not been satisfied with her daughter’s hair, I would have done it over for her. She did not do that. She tipped me and said she was satisfied and she left. To add insult to injury, the client posts a rude comment on Salon 10. I will say all styists have their “thing” that they can master. Everyone’s not going to be satisfied with your work. Salon 10 stylist are very good stylist and very patient as well. I have seen some clients be so disrespectful and I am proud of the way they remain calm and professional. If there is something that one of us doesn’t feel comfortable doing, we will gladly refer you to another Salon 10 stylist who does best at it. For instance, I do not braid hair, but there is a stylist there that is good at braiding and updos. I am so over people attacking Salon 10 and the stylist. If you’re not happy, speak up and we will gladly do what we need to do to fix it. We have always prided ourselves on that.

The owner was very nice and the hair stylist was able to get my daughter’s knots out with so much patience, she even gave me a trim and I still have long hair, unlike when I go other places that leave me with short hair. Loved this place!
