I had been looking for a new braid shop when I found this shop. Ms. Awa answered all of my questions and returned every text and call. My appointment was awesome!! I would give this place 10 stars if possible. Firstly everyone was absolutely wonderful. The owner was courteous and professional. The ladies who did my hair did a wonderful job!!! My best friend arrived this morning at 9:00 am, her appointment was at 10 but Ms. Awa told her she could come in at an hour earlier but then didn’t seat her until 9:45 am. I just checked back in with her at 6:14 pm her time and she is STILL there, because Ms. Awa continuously takes many unnecessarily long breaks and even stopped for a few hours to work on another client who walked in without an appt. This is so disrespectful to my friend and her time and completely unprofessional. My friend is a diabetic and only brought snacks with her so she’s been unable to have a full meal all day besides breakfast because of the lack of respect shown to her for an appointment made months in advance. My friend has been wanting to leave but only half of her head has been completely braided and there’s no way she could get another appointment scheduled in time before leaving for the holidays. If you have plans or things to do or place any value on your time, I would highly recommend looking else where for your hair needs.

Hi, the owner is kind. We had an appt and they opened 40 minutes late. It would’ve been nice to have been notified beforehand. The work was rushed and I’m not that happy with the finished product. To say her hair is 1 day old and we have been protecting it, you wouldn’t think so.

This has been the best hair braiding experience I’ve had in the Austin area. Awa braided my hair and I found her to be friendly, timely and very gentle. I left her shop WITHOUT the headaches I’d come to expect when getting my hair braided. She came highly recommended to me and I must say – she is a rare find!

This was my first time meeting Awa. I love her, she is very sweet and kind. She will give you the best advice possible for your hair care. I went in for individual/ box braids, they are beautiful, the best braids I have had thus far. Make sure you have the details you need before your date of service, pricing, hair length etc. That is my only suggestion. I did pay more than I expected, but I can not say it is not the best service I have received in a long time.
