Yesterday, my dad passed away. With so much to do, I decided to take some literal weight off my shoulders and schedule an appointment for today. I informed Holly at the beginning because I wasn’t sure how I would be during the duration of my appointment. She was very sympathetic. She knew I didn’t want small talk and when I got emotional during the cut, she stopped and asked if I needed some time. Holly, thank you for your silent comfort and relaxation during this time. Me & My daughter love to get our nails and hair done at Rumors Salon BUT the “Rhonda” that sets appointments is VERY RUDE and hung up on me twice! When I called back to and let her know that I was not happy and to speak with the owner she hung up on me again. Customer service should be #1 not with Rhonda!! Very Rude. Now the hair stylists are very nice and friendly. They do a wonderful job.

My hair is ridiculous. Long. Wavy/curly/straight/kinky (I have found all types of hair on top of my head. It looks so very awful when left to its own devices. It is a mess for me to work with so I generally just brush it out and braid it or pull it up). Amber is a master at taming the beast. She is super attentive and makes sure that she’s done something that I like before letting me leave. I am totally willing to have her expert hands working with my hair from now on since the one time I went to a salon in Bloomington (Amber was my stylist in Indy before I moved), the stylist missed at least half the split ends I wanted her to get rid of, cut the bangs I wanted to try out super jagged and way fuller than I wanted, and then proceeded to flat iron my hair into a mess, WITHOUT ASKING IF I EVEN WANTED MY HAIR STYLED STRAIGHT. That lady also wandered about spending more time chatting with employees and clients than on my hair. In contrast, Amber is very thorough and constantly checks to make sure ends are clean, all cutting is even, and asks how I would like my hair styled at the end of the appointment, sometimes making a recommendation or asking if she can play around with my hair, putting it into interesting French braids or other styles. I recommend Rumors to anyone who asks what the best salon in town is!
