I have been doing my own nails for years (I have a UV light and gel polishes) and decided to treat myself to a new set of professional nails. New to the area, I chose this salon based on reviews and made an appointment. I called to tell them I would be five minutes late, and when I arrived, all of the technicians were occupied. Not a big deal, only because I wasn’t pressed for time. They were all very friendly, and appeared to have lots of regulars. The atmosphere was “fun”. I got a new set of American tips, asking to have them as short and thin as possible. Historically, new sets are too long for me within a few days, and I know they need to be thick enough to not pop off. So, I left with a beautiful new set of nails, albeit thicker and longer than I prefer. A few days later I had to leave town for a family emergency. Before my nails were 7 days old, they started to pull away from the base of my nail bed. I tried to make an appointment with a local salon, but my time was limited due to a family member in the hospital. By the time I could make time to get them fixed, it was in the days leading up to Easter, so all the reputable salons were booked. At this point, my nails were too long for me to type, so I cut them shorter and did my best to file them down thinner so I could “fix them” with my gel kit when I returned from the family emergency. Unfortunately I was gone for 2 weeks, and by that time they were pulling away so badly, all except for 3 nails peeled away completely (along with the top layer of my natural nail). It also appears I now have a fungal infection on 3 fingers (the area under the tips of those nails have pulled away from the skin underneath). My nails have always been thin, and I have “strong-looking, square hands”. Not quite man-hands, but they look unprofessional without a proper manicure. I am self-employed and was excited to network in my new community. Now they look horrible and I’m embarrassed to meet potential clients. I should have saved my $60 and stuck to my tried-and-true home system. * the dark areas on my hands are phone shadow, not bruises.

I love to have my nails done here. Michelle is amazing and works fast. I sometimes get a pedicure and Don usually does it he is so very funny. I would recommend this place.

I went in for a pedicure while running errands nearby and they were able to fit me in. They take appointments and I didn’t have one but the lady was so nice and still accommodated me. She was also very quick and she helped me pick out a cute turquoise color. A great experience and I will be going there more often because the staff is so friendly.

I loved the staff at Rubi. They were kind, nice, friendly and efficient. I got the SNS manicure and i was really pleased with it! The reason I took off a star was the place seemed a little outdated and dirty. But would happily go again.
