He did an amazing job of color correction, keratin, highlighting, blowdrying and straightening. I wish him the best of luck in his new career path I am sure he will have great success! Giovanni is a new team member at Roots Devotion hair salon. He took my hair from fried to fabulous! He did an amazing job of color correction, keratin, highlighting, blowdrying and straightening. I wish him the best of luck in his new career path I am sure he will have great success! The salon also has a very warm and inviting vibe and the team members are amazing in collaboration and support of one another. Very very cool! Highly recommend.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI came to this hair salon with my daughter on July 15 and we booked the same hairstylist. Out of all the salons I’ve been to in NJ and NYC, I would say that I’ve never experienced such cold treatment as I did at Roots. The owner passed by me and she didn’t acknowledge that a first-time client was waiting. She did not greet me at all while I waited for my appointment, and when she did, she simply waved her head. The hairstylist, Erin, worked on my hair and couldn’t take her time with me. It was a half-done job. My hair had a more glowy blonde color before my appointment than after! I specifically asked to not make my hair ashy blonde and that’s how it came out instead of golden blonde like I asked. At the end, I walked out of the salon with damp hair. Granted, their website states that they are not blowdrying at this time; however, at the time of my appointment, I was not aware, there were no disclaimers in the salon, and nobody told me. I was caught completely off-guard, especially since my daughter and another client got their hair dried. The owner couldn’t be more rude and unprofessional on the phone with me. The only explanation she gave was that they weren’t blowdrying at the time. She did not apologize for my experience nor offer any solutions. I am very disappointed, especially since I expected so much. I came to this hair salon with my daughter on July 15 and we booked the same hairstylist. Out of all the salons I’ve been to in NJ and NYC, I would say that I’ve never experienced such cold treatment as I did at Roots.
