Critical: ProfessionalismIt is a shame that the general attitude of the place is that they are better than their customers, cause they do a good cut. I had my hair cut several months ago. I had to schedule my appointment almost a week in advance, showed up early, and still had to wait a good quarter hour past the appointment time. Meanwhile, other people who came in after me and had appointments for the same time were able to get their haircut on time. The staff apologized for the wait and ended up giving a pretty good cut. At the end, while she was taking my card, she pointed out that I could come in anytime to have the nick-line trimmed up at no cost–they would just squeeze me in between appointments.The other day, I decided to take her up on it and popped by to do just that. When I walked in they said they had no appointments for the day but I could get one for tomorrow. I explained that I don’t want an appointment, just my neck-line trimmed. She again said that the earliest I could be seen in tomorrow. All the while, there was a customer waiting for his appointment and the only barber somewhere in the back. Needless to say, I did not make an appointment and I won’t be coming back.I do not think it should be my place to tell someone what their policy is. A professional business should ensure that their personnel know their policy and all personnel follow it. Having one person say one thing and a different say another screams “you cannot rely on us to do what we say.” Moreover, a place which does not value their customers’ time is a place which doesn’t value it’s customers.
