I came in specifically 11 days before my wedding to spend a bit more money on a haircut, expecting a better haircut than I would have normally received. I was offered a free beer, and sat down with Dan. I had briefly explained that I wanted a high-bald fade to where my current hair disconnection was, and that I was “splurging” on this haircut because I was getting married. Dan took an hour and a half to fade my hair, and had TWO nearby barbers help “fade” my hair because even he said the fade didn’t look right. When I was handed the mirror I was absolutely devastated to see that he took the fade wayyyyyy high up my head. While I am glad others have had the opportunity for a laugh, I was very upset internally. As hair obviously cannot be re-attached, I decided to wait until after my wedding to explain the situation and ask for a refund. I asked for a refund about 18 days later and was told that they can only refund haircuts after 7 days, because they feel people try to scam them for a free haircut. As a full time college student every penny counts and the unwillingness to make this right is saddening, especially with this haircut forever captured in my wedding photos.

This was my first visit and also my first hot towel shave. My cosmetologist was Lizzie, and what a fantastic experience it was. Lizzie was very personable and made me comfortable with the whole process. Lizzie had a light touch and left me with a close and comfortable shave. I will definitely be going back for more of the hot towel shaves and will be hopefully be able to request Lizzie again.

I have been going to Roosters in Belmar for about 3 years now and I love it. Getting an appointment is really easy online and I hardly ever have to wait once I walk in. Adrianne is amazing! She is super funny and friendly every time I come in, and I always leave with a smile on my face. She sure knows what she is doing too, when I first came in I didn’t even know what hairstyle I really wanted since I hadn’t been to a barber in years. She helped me find a style that looks great and makes me feel really good every time I walk out of there. She did it again when I decided to grow a beard for the first time without knowing what I was doing. Trimming down that disaster so it looked and felt great!

If you make an appointment here make sure you have extra time as they don’t respect your time. I made an appointment for 10:30 expecting to get in by 1030-1040 at the very latest. At 1040 I saw my hair stylist still working on her previous client. There was another 10-15 mins left with him setting me back to 10:50-11am. I have to get to work and that left me no time to do so. Would have given them 1 star but they do give a good hair cut
