First I want to say this is not a review or bashing session of any particular stylist. I’m here to discuss how the owner dealt with an unfortunate haircut I had in their salon. I have been going to this salon for over five years and have spent close to 10k getting everything from cuts to color to keratin. While there have been one or two times over the years I’ve needed a slight adjustment of something, I’ve generally been happy with my services and continued to come back. However, both my stylists recently left for different reasons and so I tried a new stylist who cut my hair twice. Which brings me to my complaint.

Went in for a trim, came out feeling like my hair had been ruined. The staff were very nice, but they just didn’t listen to what I wanted. They cut the curtain bangs I had been growing out even when I said not to.

Carolina is amazing but the salon has an odd policy where you cannot book a bang trim- so as someone with bangs, it just doesn’t make sense to me. Every salon I’ve ever gone to allows you to book a 10 minute bang trim. If you have long hair and bangs a trim between haircuts is standard. Not great customer service. I’m happy to pay for a trim but they won’t even do that. ♀️

Just moved to Evanston and had to find a new stylist–never an easy thing–but I got it right the first time by going to Robert Gold Salon. Nicole spent extra time and attention on fixing the last haircut I had, which was mediocre, and she gave me a fabulous cut, beautifully styled. The salon is busy, comfortable, lots of light, in a great neighborhood. I really enjoyed my time there and felt great walking out with my fresh cut. Highly recommended!

I have been coming to this upscale salon, Robert Gold, for many years. Unlike some other upscale salons, I feel comfortable here. The owners are enjoyable to talk to and I never have to wait. Very experienced and knowledgeable stylists and colorists. Janet is an amazing stylist, that is who cuts and styles my hair. She is caring, has a great eye for what will be best for your face. Robert Gold Salon is GOLD.
