This should be zero stars. I scheduled a first-time client appointment with Holly who confirmed the date and time a week out. I texted the day before that I could come a few minutes earlier, at the original time that she had wanted to book me. She wrote back that the earlier time was better, but clearly had the wrong day. I wrote to confirm the date and never heard back. I showed up on the correct date at the earlier time (knowing that I may have to wait for the originally scheduled time), and was told she was on her way. I waited a half hour. When she showed up, she told me that she was double-booked. She asked if I could come the next day when she had a bunch of cancellations. (Apparently, I don’t have anything better to do but go to hair appointments.) Then she asked if I could come back in 15 minutes and she could start with me. I did. She was still working on the other person’s hair. I left.

Rock Salon is an AMAZING find…..the Staff is truly one of the BEST you will ever find! Our daughter’s wedding was held in Lake Placid this past weekend (May 5, 2018) and the River Rock Salon was truly one of the highlights of the weekend. Holly and her staff, went our of their way, to not only make us all beautiful, but helped us to relax, enjoy our time getting ready, kept us on time and made everything about our time there, very special! River Rock Salon is up-to-date and then some, on hair styles and styling techniques….they can offer you suggestions about your hair, so that when you get back home, you can take better care of your own hair. They are knowledgeable, professional and a whole lot of FUN! We all left wishing that we lived closer than a 4 hour drive, we would be full time customers, for sure!

I had such a fantastic experience at River Rock Salon in Lake Placid! I had my hair, make-up and nails done for my wedding and every aspect of my visit was professional, courteous, warm and welcoming! I am not from this area and had no opportunity to visit the salon before my wedding day so I put my faith in the hands of the ladies at the salon and they did not disappoint. My hair looked fantastic and so did my make-up. We were tight on time but they were able to squeeze in a manicure and made me look beautiful on my big day! Even though I do not live in the area I will certainly visit again to get my nails done or a blow out or to browse their beautiful jewelry selection. I would recommend River Rock Salon to anyone living in or visiting the Lake Placid area!

My gel manicure did not include having the nails shaped. The gel is way too thick in several places. My entire nail peeled off 4 days after I got the manicure, when gel is supposed to last at least two weeks.. there are several nails where the polish doesn’t even reach the end of the nail. I really wanted to love this manicure but I’m extremely disappointed.
