I’ve been getting my hair cut at Refuge since they were located on Broadway, and I feel like I lucked out, finding them the way I did. Kat has been my barber from the start, and while I would be comfortable with any of the barbers here, I like it that way. Kat is a phenomenal barber, in my opinion. She works fast only because she’s got the practice and muscle memory to be able to, not because she’s rushing. I don’t recall ever needing anything fixed after she’s cut my hair. And she’s a good conversationalist!

Shelly is awesome! I never really know how to explain how I want my hair cut. She took my incoherent description and made me feel/look like a million bucks! Even after showing a photo and explicitly saying “I don’t want any length taken off the top, just texturized” Bill proceeded to do what he wanted to do and take months and months of me growing my hair out and chopping it off. Not really realizing what was being done until after it had been done. I called this out and he was not at all apologetic and was trying to turn it on me. I had hoped by going into a local shop and paying premium more care and attention would have gone into my cut but this was not my experience.
