Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueMichael is simply the best barber I could ask for, and certainly the best I have found in Marin. My experience elsewhere was fine, but he and his Redwood Barber Shop colleagues took it up another notch — perfect haircuts, absolutely consistent from one cut to the next, a fantastic fix-it haircut the one time I had to use another barber for scheduling reasons. You should avoid that by using the great website, and should book ahead — the calendar can sometimes fill up a few weeks out. Both Leah and Melissa have cut my hair too, and while Michael is my go-to, they are both truly awesome and highly skilled as well.I also really appreciate the COVID protocols here — an appropriate level of caution that is totally reasonable for my protection and theirs. And apart from it all, they are just plain good people, making the kind of experience and the kind of business I feel great about supporting. Michael is simply the best barber I could ask for, and certainly the best I have found in Marin. My experience elsewhere was fine, but he and his Redwood Barber Shop colleagues took it up another notch — perfect haircuts, absolutely consistent from one cut to the next, a fantastic fix-it haircut the one time I had to use another barber for scheduling reasons. Critical: Professionalism, QualityUnfortunately, Michael refused to cut my hair… after arriving at my appointment and showing Michael a picture of what I was thinking he continued to say “I wouldn’t do my hair that way”. After about the 5th time I told him to just do what he thinks would look good and have some confidence in his work because at this point he hadn’t been very encouraging. Michael took offense to the call for confidence and said he didn’t feel comfortable cutting my hair and asked me to leave… I apologized for any offense and let him know he had artistic liberty but to no avail.
