I rate it a 3 stars just because it’s not for me. I used to live in Montclair years ago and thought this place was nice because they would massage your head with a warm towel and sprayed lotion on your head; now I see it’s way overpriced compared to other hair salons and barbershops where I can get a good regular cut for $20 with tip. This place is more for like Chicano “greasers” and those eccentric hairstyles with buzz cut designs and shapes. If this is your type of barbershop and don’t mind paying over 25$ for a haircut and wait like 15+ minutes then this place is for you.

Critical: Punctuality, ValueService could be much quicker. Sometimes seems like they take so long because they’re constantly chatting amongst each other. When you’re actually seen, the haircut quality isn’t worth the price or the 1.5 hours you’ve spent there. What a shame

I personally have only taken my kids to Cesar and he’s by far the BEST barber to ever cut my kids’ hair! I would recommend making an appt because the wait can be long on the weekend. Everyone is friendly, highly recommended! And for everyone hollering on here about high prices, remember you get what you pay for any where you go. The location is great the owner is down to earth but in reality the place is always shorthanded and there’s always long waiting times sometimes well over an hour I suggest anyone that is planning on going here calling first and setting up an appointment or you will screw yourself like I have done way to many times. It just seems the owner always short hands the amount of people working if it’s the weekend or weekdays. Which only affects the customers when they have to wait longer-than-expected times and forced to leave. My question is how does a business owner prophet having Barbers that take over an hour and a half with one customer as well…

Been going to this barbershop for two years now. You want your hair to be treated like a sculpture then ask for Steven. Really awesome group of employees. Unfortunately they raised there prices here and for me they’re TOO GOD DAMN HIGH. They used to charge 19 but now it’s 21. Thanks for the best haircut experience but I won’t be coming here anymore.

I started getting cut at Royal Barbers when they were a new shop. I have seen barbers come and go and I have received haircuts from many of them. I have never had a bad haircut here. Andrew, PJ, Javier, Chris, and Jimmy (all current barbers) have cut my hair with no problems ever.
