This is the 3rd pedicure I’ve had in my life, and it was great. The older staff don’t speak very good English, but that didn’t stop them from doing a beautiful French tip pedicure for me on Valentine’s Day. I like the different options for the spa part of the pedicure. I did the $45 tangerine pedi and my toes look, feel, and smell great now I came back for Mother’s Day and Thanh spoke good English, was very kind, and made me feel so relaxed.

I came on my birthday. Scheduled an appointment and to let them know I needed to be done by 12pm for another appt, they told me it wasn’t a problem. I showed up at 10am but waited 20 minutes for them to start. The woman who did my pedicure was good. I was quoted $5 to put acrylic on one toenail, which I was okay with. After waiting 15 minutes for them to repair the nail and finish the pedicure, I told them I would come back later for nails because I didn’t have enough time and didn’t want to be late. They insisted they’d finish before 12.

The guy who did my nails was really rude the entire time. Anytime I let him know I didn’t like something he would mock me and laugh with the lady next to us. He over charged me for a full set. And tried to charge me for gel which I never asked for I asked

After being a regular for years at Red Nails I will never step foot back there again. Although I have been a regular patron here I have never been treated as such. I made an appointment last week to get my nails done for my birthday and was refused service because I was late. The problem with this is when I called to make the appointment the person I requested the shop wasn’t even sure would be in that day and I was assured if he didn’t come in somebody else would do them but that’s the only reason I made an appointment otherwise walk ins are welcomed. I see walk ins come every time I’m doing my nails and they are greeted with a smile and warm welcome. Because I was late for my appointment they refused to do any service for me even though it was clearly a slow time and there was people available to take me. When I left l called to complain about the the treatment I just received and the manager said “I am just too sensitive”. I hate to pull the race card but imma pull it.Hands down black women are one of the beauty industries biggest supporters and I see the terrible treatment and have experience it time and time again. Although I have come to this nail salon for years when I walk in I’m never greeted with a smile or called by first name it’s like I’m going there for the first time and then someone else (a white woman usually) walks in and it’s the eagerness to assist and a smile followed by first name basis and I’m like why do I never get that treatment after going here for years?? I request Peter to do my nails all the time and he still does not know my name. Nail salons and beauty supply stores love black women money but we are always ill treated. And yes I make sure and tip every time!

Service was great but the prices were way to much. I do feel like they put in more time on the pedicures with massages that felt great but it cost me 80 including a 10 dollar tip to get a mani-pedi with regular nail polish.

I love Red Nails in Cottage Grove. Everyone is welcomed when they walk in the door and you feel at home. Their work is excellent and they back it up. I highly recommend them.

I had my manicure done by Peter today. He did an amazing job. I said I just wanted a simple nail design, but he did beyond what I had expected. He is so professional, talented, and gentle. I definitely come back to him.

Critical: Quality, ValueI have had dip nails done 3 separate times there since September and each time the process has been different and I’ve had to return within a week to have touch up or a fresh top coat because it peels off. The last time was less than a week ago and again the topcoat is peeling off some fingers. The dip is rippled and bumpy. I mentioned that the process was different, she was not curing the dip in between coats, and when I mentioned something they said it was “her personal preference”. When the top coat she was applying was continually flat (no shine) she ended up having to buff off the top layer and put a gel topcoat on, which again, is peeling off. My last visit took almost 3 hours. I went to the same salon downtown St Paul for 6 years before I moved to Cottage Grove and I never had to go back once in 6 years for a touch up or repair. They salon is fancy and nice, but I’ve given up on going back. The drive to St Paul is worth it.Services: Pedicure, ManicureI have had dip nails done 3 separate times there since September and each time the process has been different and I’ve had to return within a week to have touch up or a fresh top coat because it peels off. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueSTAY FAR AWAY. Came for a manicure and 45 minutes in the lady still did not know what she was doing. The manager just says you don’t have to pay if you don’t like instead of trying to correct the service. I paid $20 and left. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Also, very poor social distancing.Service: Manicure

I got my nails done 2 weeks ago and the top coat is peeling off, they didn’t paint the tips of the nails and the jewels feel off days after. The service was good and nails looked amazing for the first week then just went very down hill. Gel manicures
