I been going to Reaction for years for my sew in weave. I always get my hair done by the same person and she does a wonderful job. However, because she is on vacation I went to someone new in the salon. I am always charged 160$ flat for a sew in but this time, when I went to the register to pay this raccoon eyed lady(who has over charged me once before but I let it go), over charged me 40$ for a “blow out on long hair” with the final cost of 200$. I came into the salon with my hair WASHED AND BLOWN OUT! The lady doing my hair blew out my hair which is not usually done with my regular lady in the salon but if so I NEVER BEEN CHARGED. I always come with my hair washed and blown out straight and my regular lady never had to blow it out fully or charged me extra to do so because it would be a LIGHT BLOW DRY. the lady at the register has over charged me before because my “weave was too long” said that my natural hair is “long”. this will be the first and last time she will be ringing me up and to be honest I am considering not going back even though they do beautiful hair. As a regular, paying customer I bare minimum respect and transparency. Instead this lady took advantage and overcharged me and stated “she’s not going to argue with me”. no one is arguing i’m defending myself and not going to allow someone to run my pockets for the sick of it. I get the holidays are done and businesses are not making as much but play with someone else not me!

Quick go to for wash and set. Just ensure you know who is blow drying your hair … good products. can cause heat damage. Make sure you tell them not to hot and add heat protectant.

Cons: Waited more than an hour and was not even seen… then this lady came and asked me to seat on the chair after I complained, put in the gown on me… as if to make me feel more at ease.. and left me there waiting again… feeling hot. Why bother to complain … just took off and never coming back again. By the way I noticed they did the same to another customer as well.

I have been observing this salon for some time. I come here because it’s convenient to my home. The products are quality but service is inconsistent. There is a good stylist like Beba. But the salon takes a lot of short cuts to speed things up. Rush you out from the dryer when hair is not fully dry. Applying larger rollers for faster dry but hair comes out flat and no bounce. They are using Bobby pins instead of clips for roller set. The clips pull on wet hair. If you notice breakage. That’s why. And they use a flat iron on every single client. If they roller set the properly you wouldn’t have to do that. The owner only cares about money and yes they do talk about you if you want things a particular way. The right way. Salon is clean and spacious.

Critical: QualityI moved to Long Island six months ago from Brooklyn. I have been commuting to Brooklyn for my hair. Every weekend. Since we had the snow storm, I decided to use this establishment. I wanted to see if I can use them going forward..Needless to say, I was very disappointed! The washer washed my hair under one minute. My hair did not feel clean. I could have done a better job myself. I will not recommend this establishment if you are used to getting your hair properly washed on a weekly basis. This was a waste of my time and money.
