Moved to CT this summer and needed a new hairdresser, found this place via google and am SO happy with my hair! I got a cut and partial highlight and it came out gorgeous. Owner is super friendly and welcoming. Definitely found my new place.

STAY AWAY! I ended up with the worse choppy staircase haircut in my life. I had a FEW pieces of fringe that was up to my CHIN that I trimmed myself MONTHS ago and asked the the hairstylist to blend in with the rest of my cut. She chopped it up really short and didn’t blend it and said I cut that. The rest of my layers were so uneven and choppy. I called the following day asking for a refund. I was not comfortable with letting them fix it because it was so bad already!! The entire visit was about $120 with shampoo and conditioner. The owner said if I wanted a full refund I needed to come back in for her to see. The most she would refund over the phone was the haircut price of $25. I was still dissatisfied so I went in after work. As soon as she saw me at the door she said “can I help you?” in a condescending tone, like she didn’t know why I was there. I said I was there for my full refund and she replied “I don’t have time to look at your hair you need to schedule an appointment” I sat down with her that evening at 7:30 after everyone else has left and she berated me and twisted my words about how I cut my own fringe and that I use clarifying shampoo that’s why it looked the way it did. She kept saying how layered haircuts ONLY look good if you styled it, otherwise it looks choppy. She was brushing my hair and blowing it out trying to blend in the mess and then asked me to show her where the choppy-ness was. I picked up a very obvious short random piece in the back, and then she pulled another piece from some other side of my my hair and went, “NOPE ITS EVEN, IVE DONE HAIR FOR BLAH BLAH YEARS AND THIS IS HOW YOU CUT LAYERED HAIR” I was was done going back and forth with her I wanted my refund. She continued to criticize me and told me I was wrong for not liking it and I was not going to be happy anywhere else. Eventually she gave me my refund but not without a last jab on her part. I wanted to return my shampoo and conditioner, and she told me exact words “I would’ve told you to just keep it because you need it!” I could continue to list all of the other insults she threw at me while I was there like how I (an Asian woman) did not look like the white woman from the inspiration photo I gave her so I can’t expect to look like that after a haircut. I will forever deter anyone from coming here. Please go somewhere else!!!

I was looking forward to trying a new hair salon. I had made an appointment for a full highlight/trim. The phone call took longer than needed and they said at the end that they required a $50 dollar deposit to “hold” my appointment for new clients. First time I have ever heard of putting down a deposit for a hair appointment. Never heard of such a thing. I’m all set. Kind of disappointing.

Before I came to Razz, I had my hair done by a different licensed hairdresser. I asked if she were available to cut my hair in addition to dying it platinum blonde. I sent her photos of the color/cut I was looking for and we scheduled a time to meet. She didn’t consult with me on the color she chose. She just applied it regardless. It was the exact opposite of what I asked of her, which she dyed a yellow, brassy gold. The cut was very uneven and rushed. I was pretty upset so I asked her to correct it. All she really did at that point was apply a pearl toner that just dulled out the ends of my hair. I felt extremely discouraged and self conscious, so I looked around for other alternatives. I found that the Razz Salon was only about 5 minutes from me so I called to book an appointment. Their website showcases an excellent portfolio of work that made it an easy choice for me. All of the staff were so friendly and generous. I worked with Jessica today, who was incredibly understanding during the entire process. She was lovely to speak with and made the experience a great one. I’m highly impressed by her expertise! She evened out the cut and fixed all of that horrible brassyness. I will certainly be a revisiting client!
