I am pretty new to the area, and I was scared to go to a new hairdresser for a short haircut, but Megan did a wonderful job. My gray hair looks perfect now. I look younger and feel better. We had a nice chat with Megan. She is great. Overall, visiting this salon was definitely a pleasant experience. Thank you.

The people are so lovely! I got a fabulous hair cut, and there are so many pretty candles, plants, and products to browse. Tanya is delightful! Ask for her!

Megan was my stylist. She was pretty dope. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. It’s a good place to get your hair cut if you can afford it. Haircut

I’ve seen Jessica for my haircuts a few times and I recently decided to do more and go for some balayage – I’ve never colored my hair before so I was happy to do what she recommended. It turned out beautiful! I love it! The salon is so cute and everyone who works there seems extremely knowledgeable about the products and techniques they are using. They always offer drinks (even beer!) and are just generally friendly. This is an excellent salon and I recommend it to all my friends.

Jessica did an amazing job on my hair! I went in to get my hair colored darker after not dying my hair for many years. She worked with me to understand exactly what I was wanting. My hair looks darker, natural and shiny just like I wanted. She is very talented, genuine, and has a great sense of humor! I definitely recommend Jessica for a color change!

I absolutely love this salon and will never willingly go elsewhere. As someone on the autism spectrum it can be difficult to find a salon that doesn’t overwhelm me with sounds and smells — honestly I tend to get sensory overload the instant I step into most places. Raw Hair Society is such a calming space and there are no chemical smells. Additionally, Sara always does an amazing job on my hair and is a joy to interact with. It’s a little spendy, and I don’t care. It is the one extravagant thing I do for myself on a regular basis and it is 100% worth it.

As a long time customer, I was shocked by my last experience at Raw Hair Society. I had been expecting to pay $68 for a hair cut, as was the price my stylist charged one year ago (this is a yearly indulgence for me, and I’ve had four hair cuts at this salon). Instead, I was unexpectedly charged $97 after the cut. Turns out, the mass email they sent out was the only way they informed folks of the nearly 50% increase in price. They can charge whatever they want, but having the charge come as a surprise—after two phone calls to schedule, being greeted by the front desk person at my appointment, and my stylist specifically asking me if I’d received the announcement email as she walked me back to the chair (to which I clearly replied “No,”)—was unpleasant. I felt deep shame and betrayal every time my hair was complemented. I wrote them a nice email with some feedback and this was completely ignored, so I decided to write this review. Make sure you’re aware of exactly how much you’ll be paying for services here.

Tara Elkin was excellent at listening and helping create what I wanted for my haircut, while providing guidance from her experience with my hair type. She was very conscientious and thorough in making sure I was happy with the haircut. I appreciate the way the place is set up to be calming, quiet, and with not too many strong scents. Haircut

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI went in to get my straight across hair cut into a V-shape. The stylist handed me a mirror to look at the back of my hair and I remember thinking that something looked off. It didn’t look too bad in the moment so I paid close to $60 (including a 20% tip) and left. It wasn’t until I got home that I noticed that my hair was extremely choppy and uneven. I called the salon and spoke to someone (I didn’t get their name) about getting a refund and getting my hair fixed. The person on the phone said they don’t usually do refunds, but either she could try to fix my hair or I could get in contact with the owner of the salon. The owner reached out exactly 24 hours after the incident and we scheduled a time to get my hair fixed. I was initially satisfied with my hair cut . My hair was straightened and styled so it looked good. After washing my hair I noticed that the ends of my hair were so thin you could see through them. I also had a lot of breakage for weeks afterwards (I’m assuming from the straightening. She got my thick hair pin straight in 5 minutes — the heat was too high?). Months later I finally got the courage to get another haircut at HairMasters. The stylist asked me if I had cut my hair at home because it was so uneven. I paid $60 for a bad haircut and an extra $30 to get it fixed.Service: HairstylingI went in to get my straight across hair cut into a V-shape.
