Positive: QualityMy fiancé and I decided to elope last minute in the keys on New Year’s Eve. I had trouble finding someone to do myself and my moms hair and makeup until I called Ralph’s salon. They came in that morning when they were supposed to be closed for the holiday and did an AMAZING job on my bridal hair and makeup and my moms hair and makeup! My hair and makeup came out better than the reference photos I showed them. My fiancé and I decided to elope last minute in the keys on New Year’s Eve. I had trouble finding someone to do myself and my moms hair and makeup until I called Ralph’s salon. They came in that morning when they were supposed to be closed for the holiday and did an AMAZING job on my bridal hair and makeup and my moms hair and makeup! My hair and makeup came out better than the reference photos I showed them. I am very thankful for this salon for accommodating me on my wedding day!

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI used the same stylist for over 20 years so when she moved I struggled to find someone. I then found Ralph’s Hair Salon and Maggie has been doing my hair (and fixing my in between at home color touch ups ♀️) for the past several years. I’m a night shift ER Nurse so I’m always limited on time for scheduling. She is always accommodating and does a fantastic job. A good stylist doesn’t come cheap so don’t expect budget prices. I used the same stylist for over 20 years so when she moved I struggled to find someone. I then found Ralph’s Hair Salon and Maggie has been doing my hair (and fixing my in between at home color touch ups ♀️) for the past several years. I’m a night shift ER Nurse so I’m always limited on time for scheduling. She is always accommodating and does a fantastic job. A good stylist doesn’t come cheap so don’t expect budget prices. Ralph is a great guy but don’t trust the quote. I went in to make an appointment and get a price. I was quoted $105 for color and highlights. The most I’ve paid in the 7yrs I been having it done was $120. So I made the appointment. When I went to pay it was $230. I told them about quote and they took $15 off! Yes he did a good job on the color and highlights. But not anymore than the other hairstylist in the past. For this reason only I’m giving a 1 star. This experience wasn’t an awe moment. It was ordinary. And for the owner not to honor a quoted price was extremely disappointing. Will never go back.

When I first came in I was a little put off as the girl that must have been scheduled to cut my hair didn’t seem very interested. I have short hair and needed a trim, and the first thing she said to me was, “what are you going to cut off?” She then talked to a couple other stylists, one of which I believe was about to go home. Her name was Lindsey and she ended up cutting my hair and did a fantastic job. Very friendly and bonus points for staying late to take care of me. That’s good customer service. Don’t know what the other girls problem was, but I almost left because I felt like I was intruding. I will definitely be going back to Lindsey though!! Great place. 🙂

I asked Ralph for a large body wave perm, was quoted $135, and I even brought pictures and showed him exactly what I wanted and he said no problem. I’m on time for my appointment and I still have to wait an hour before I’m able to get in the chair. He does the “body wave perm” and it comes out in small, tight curls and they charge me $250. The guy says to give it a couple weeks and the curls will relax. I ask him “the curls may relax, but how are they going to get larger? The curlers you used seemed way too small….?” but I think “he’s the expert, I’ll follow directions and do as I’m told.” A month later and I had the basic, run of the mill perm, small waves, and my hair is damaged. I went from having long, lustrous 16″ locks of hair down my back to having thin, dull, dried out mini waves. I’m going to have to have most of it cut off for it look healthy again. I called the salon to complain and they won’t even see me. No offer to fix it (because it can’t be fixed without more damage), and not even an offer for a refund. I wouldn’t have even posted this bad review if they would AT LEAST given me a refund for ruining my hair and an apology. DO NOT go to this salon if you value your hair, or want your patronage to be appreciated.

I have been going to Ralph’s Hair Salon for at least three years. They are wonderful with color matching!! Both Ralph and Maggie are wonderful people, and the service is great! If you are looking for a salon that is friendly, reasonably priced and fun, Ralph’s is the place!
