After moving to Richmond & trying out 4 barbershops in the area that I felt were over-priced for the services provided, I finally found out about Rainbow through a friend & won’t go anywhere else. Walk-ins are welcome but there may be a wait depending on scheduling each day. The Rainbow staff is always responsive to phone calls when booking appointments ahead of time which I would recommend. Although most of the clientele are women, there is no gap in expertise when asking for a men’s fade or taper haircut. The prices are also much more reasonable than other barbershops & salons in/around the city. All barbers/stylists give a great haircut but I can’t say enough about Kim. Her 20+ years in cutting hair is shown with every haircut I receive. Highly recommend!

Outstanding all the way around. Rainbow Salon has an amazingly talented staff, comforting atmosphere, 7-day availability and reasonable prices! I was in need of a massive color correction after someone in Chester, VA butchered my highlights and haircut (see transformation below). Kim worked a miracle through inquiring about my hair history, listening to my vision and strategically carrying out her method for lifting my hair without breakage by using olaplex throughout the entire process. I love the way my highlights turned out and how soft and shiny my hair is following the deep conditioning/hot oil treatment. Additionally, I got a beautiful layered haircut that looks great curly and straight. It is difficult to find a stylist who you can trust with your hair, and I can assure you that you will not regret making your way to Rainbow Salon! Thank you, Kim!

I highly recommend this hair salon! I’m native from New York City and I’ve been in VA for 7 months. Every other hair salon I’ve been to here in VA messed up my hair and over charged me! I’ve been to Rainbow twice and I’ve been very happy with their service. Very friendly and their prices are reasonable! Casey and Kim Lin have done a wonderful job with my hair (and I have a lot) and take their time to make sure it’s done exactly how you want it. They are also very honest, they won’t do something to your hair they feel will harm it or won’t look good. I just got back from getting my hair done for the new year and I am more than happy and so is my hubby!! Below is a before and after pics! Amazing! Thank you Kim!! Happy Nee Year!!

I wasn’t expecting it to look like the picture but I was hoping she could just lighten my hair without it looking brassy. I had very very low expectations. I was so scared to get my hair done because everyone else who has ever done my hair has ruined it. I went in and showed her a picture of what I wanted. I wasn’t expecting it to look like the picture but I was hoping she could just lighten my hair without it looking brassy. I had very very low expectations. I don’t live far from the salon and I’ve heard many good things so I really wanted to visit. My hair is a little unruly at times with SO MANY thin strands that stick up in all directions when brushed, curled… you name it. Often times I go without brushing it making it a sticky tangled mess thanks to the poor quality shampoo I use. Kim did a wonderful job working out the tangles with better shampoo and thoroughly massaging my scalp to ensure all the old shampoo was rinsed from my hair. After leaving Rainbow Beauty Salon I’m happy to say I invested in some better shampoo and conditioner as I did not realize it made that much of a difference!I love my haircut and it was a very affordable price of $35! I had a fantastic experience with Kim! After calling, Kim was able to fit me in for a layered haircut. I don’t live far from the salon and I’ve heard many good things so I really wanted to visit.
