I went in for a full set of lashes and continue to get them filled. Kirstin did a better job than I could even have imagined! My lashes look amazing and the customer service is great! Wont be going anywhere else for my lashes, so glad I found this gem

Went here for a couple services but will not be returning. I went for a wax recently (eyebrows) just to get the stray hairs removed and some light plucking done only to be handed the mirror and realize that one of my eyebrows had been astronomically thinned out and was now uneven from the other brow. I was in such shock at first I literally went home to my mirror and realized just how screwed up they now look. Not sure how long it will take for my eyebrow to grow back to normal, but it seems like a complete reshaping after I only asked for some light trimming and plucking done.

Kirstin is amazing and personable! I have been suffering from adult acne most of my life. Over the past two years we have been working together, she has dramatically improved the way I approach my face care. Additionally, I see her consistently for a custom facial. I love this treatment. Kirstin meets me where I am at and addresses my face’s needs in the moment. I notice immediate improvement in my skin’s texture after my facial with her! PLUS the treatments are incredibly relaxing! Also, Kirstin is an incredible makeup artist. She will be doing my makeup for my wedding in August. Honestly, I cannot recommend Pure Beauty enough!

Hope this review helps someone. My experience was actually back in February, I held off on writing a review because I didn’t complete the service and she didn’t take any money from me so I felt bad to leave this rating, but I realized how traumatized I have been about allowing anyone to wax me even those I have been used to. I was on an assignment for work, and my boyfriend and I made a spontaneous decision to go somewhere for V-day since I had gotten those days off. Of course everyone was booked and she was the only person who accepted my last minute appointment for a Brazilian Wax, despite her requirements, and I was appreciative of this. I am from Florida and I was not familiar with the Burlington area especially since I was working in St. Albans. I was having trouble finding the building so I called her and she was kind of rude in my opinion because, yes I didn’t read the instructions thoroughly but I booked it while at work and drove to the city after a 12 hour shift to run errands before my trip. While I was trying to tell her where I was, walking up and down the street, instead of just explaining or telling me to turn into the building, initially, she sarcastically asked if I read the instructions and that all the details were in her email and text. I explained I am not from here and as I am standing in the cold I’m searching for her email/text to go and read her instructions, still the building numbers were not marked clearly or boldly enough and she finally explained to me she is located in the café. Her tone wasn’t pleasant at all but when I got inside she seemed to be a bit softer but not as welcoming as I wanted her to be or as most wax places typically are. But I continued, when I really should have turned around and went to Walmart for a DIY. I laid on the table, and she put the first wax strip which felt sort of hotter than usual but I figured perhaps I am still cold and I will adjust. After 3 strip rips I started to feel as if she either didn’t have much experience in this skill or she wasn’t used to African American women/men. African American women and men are prone to having ingrown hair. After removing hair in a spot she then proceeded to take what felt like a sharp curved tweezer to poke at an ingrown hair in that same area. Which I have never seen anyone do, they usually tell me to exfoliate and provide other less painful tips to help with in grown hair. She then put wax in another area she just ripped hair from, I guess to catch the ones she missed and the wax was hotter than before, I explained to her that this was painful and she tried to tell me perhaps it was because my period was coming on and it wasn’t, or maybe this was my first time and once again that was not the case. Either way, the wax being to hot cant be excused by any of these reasons. I finally couldn’t take it anymore after some of the hot wax fell through the slit (for cleaner term purposes), I jumped up and was ready to run out the room and she told me to at least let her remove the wax as it will be harder later, I felt weird even allowing her to remove the wax so I could leave and there was still a lot left over on the inner parts and close to my butt. I honestly never experienced something this bad. I was half waxed and my skin felt raw for almost two weeks and I broke out in hives in the same time frame, so tender I couldn’t even shave that other half I just left it so that I wouldn’t accidently pass over that other side. It was honestly sad. I felt bad for her because I thought maybe she just doesn’t get many African American women/men as clients but then I considered the overall experience and regardless something could have been done about the extremely hot wax and how she was ripping in so many directions, the first time I mentioned it.

Kirstin is a delight to work with but what’s much more valuable and impressive is how well she knows her craft in and out. She caters her services specifically to you and refuses to perform services that she knows from years of research and experience simply will not work out with you. She is a master of lash extensions and her technique and choices will not ruin your lashes if you elect to remove the extensions down the line. I will go only to Kirstin for my lashes, spray tanning, and brazilians because she truly knows what she’s doing and is the authority on her craft.

I receive monthly facials with Kirstin. I always get a custom facial. We discuss my current skin condition and concerns and she knows exactly what to do. From peels, microderm abrasion or hydrating facials – my skin is glowing after our session. She is professional and her space is lovely.

I felt the need to write this review because it’s not everyday you meet someone who truly has a kind heart. I met Kirstin, the owner, outside of her establishment. One thing I can tell you, if you are looking to work with someone with a great personality and an easy going demeanor you should head to Pure Beauty and meet yourself. I will be referring my fiancee, my mother, and the rest of my family and friends because of our encounter. I hope your enjoy your new Rogue!

I’m not sure what the good reviews are about, this was an odd experience. If you’ve ever gotten a spray tan this was bad, by all standards. First, owner is not very friendly, no pleasantries. She led me to a room without saying a word with her back to me the entire time. She acted disinterested I felt like I was bothering her with my appointment. The room where she does lashes etc. is small but I can only comment on the spray tan since that’s the service I received. The room where she does spray tan, is a tiny old locker room with a rag covering the corner wall. She instructed me to undress to “my comfort level”, while standing a foot away. Not very comfortable. The space was too small for me to straighten my hand during spray (it’s one arm at a time) and I received no instructions on how to position my hand and fingers. I followed all pre-spray instructions-no oil exfoliating, no lotions, etc. When I washed the rapid spray after 3.5 hours I didn’t look much different, as confirmed by my friends. My hands were a little uneven, and overall it was a very light tan, even though I picked second to the darkest option. Im not sure if she used to have a salon and this is a temporary space she rents, and maybe I just got her on a bad day, hey everyone has those, but I just didnt feel comfortable from beginning to end.
