I had an excellent first-time experience at Pure Vida. I had a Brazilian blowout and haircut done by Evey Bowman. When I have gotten Brazilian treatments at other salons, they have sometimes made it so that my hair is flat and limp. However, Evey did a wonderful job doing it in a way that my hair has retained volume at the roots. Nina, the salon coordinator, was also very kind, helpful, and welcoming. The salon is small and has a peaceful, cozy vibe. I am happy with my first experience at Pure Vida and I look forward to returning.

The interior set up and front staff would make you think this ‘spa &hair’ venue is top notch. My experience specifically with a hair cutting ended badly and proved otherwise. I asked for a classic ‘Chanel’ cut, which my hair was already cut in but needed a trim. Instead,I got a cut that looks like someone put a bowl over my head. There is ‘no classic Chanel line’ to it at all. One side is longer than the other in the front. And the back is simply a straight line whack job with more cut off than I wanted. I went in to discuss it and was told ‘there is a time limitation’ on being able to get it fixed.Really? My hair was cut 5/26,I went in after getting out of hospital around the 10th of June. Who knew this type of policy even existed. In thec40+years I have been getting my hair done,I have NEVER run into this policy! Not in LA,NY,Chicago,nowhere! The person who recommended ‘Evey,’- who cut my hair- related that she had cut her hair an inch shorter than she wanted. I was asked if I had given Evey pictures. No, I figured when I said ‘classic Chanel cut’ she would know what that was and if she did not,she would have said something. Did not happen. If you are considering this place, bring pictures. Be VERY specific about what you do NOT want. Personally,I will never return. This mess is going to take months to grow back to the point it can be properly cut again. Any woman reading this will get how frustrating it is to have to deal with the mess like this until it can be properly cut! )
