I’ve got my hair cut here twice now, so I think I can leave a pretty solid review. The first time there was a scheduling mishap and the owner was very apologetic (even though it was mostly my fault) and accommodating. They even called me 5 minutes past my reservation to ask if I was coming in, which I appreciated. The stylist did a great job thinning my extremely thick hair, evening the layers, and removing the dead ends while keeping my length. The owner was busy talking to someone while I walked out the door, but made sure to run out to thank me and wave me goodbye, which I thought was a nice gesture.

I’ve been going to Lindsay for years and my hair looks perfect every time. When I started going to her, I had almost black box dye in my hair and she brought my hair to my dream platinum (it took several sessions to get to that point, this wasn’t done in one day). This time last year I asked her to put purple in my hair and I’ve been obsessed with it since! The color always comes out exactly how I want, and is the most beautiful shade of pastel purple.

I called urgently in the morning for their same day availability, and the staff was super helpful. He helped me by updating several times to inform the best time slot that works for us. I eventually had a haircut at my desired time! The hairstyle I wanted is actually simple but my hair is very thick and not easy to be done. The lady who cut my hair was very sweet! She told me every step before she will do anything with my hair. At first I was a bit nervous, but it turned out great and I love it! (all my friends complimented my beautiful hair a lot)

Lindsay was great! My haircut only took about 40 minutes and was very professional, comfortable, and efficient! She consulted and walked me through each step of the process and made sure I really loved my cut before I left! She immediately understood and was able to replicate my reference pic! Positive: ValueI am not that familiar with Oakland, and I could not find this shop. I called and asked for directions right at noon, when my daughter’s appointment was scheduled for. The shop owner actually left the shop and went out on the sidewalk, phone in hand, to direct me to the shop and to try to direct me to a parking place. I thought that was beyond the call of duty. Very kind of him. Also, yesterday, when my daughter called to see if she could get an appointment, Mr. Puccini fit her in today. Also very kind of him because the shop was busy. I am not that familiar with Oakland, and I could not find this shop. I called and asked for directions right at noon, when my daughter’s appointment was scheduled for. The shop owner actually left the shop and went out on the sidewalk, phone in hand, to direct me to the shop and to try to direct me to a parking place. I thought that was beyond the call of duty. Do not go here for hair color! I wanted a dark brown balayage and the lady ended up making it almost blond. I asked them to darken it for me and they charged me extra $70 to get the color I initially requested. My tshirt was ruined with the bleach because they did not use enough towels and my hair still has some strands of the first color they did. It was a waste of my time and money!!

My first trip to Puccini Hair Design was last week, and it was really pleasant. The owner is visible and proactive, yet comfortable and unassuming (we talked guitars and music long after my cut and style were done). My stylist, Tammy, listened to my modest requests and I got just what I asked for at a good price. She did a really nice job! The whole experience was 5-star, and I’ll be back 🙂

Even after going here for 2 years I am still pleasantly surprised at the consistent professionalism and courtesy of this salon. Always quick to answer the phone and provide availability and work with your schedule. All the stylists are able to work with your style and leave you with a haircut that makes you feel like you can perform a hostile takeover of a fortune 500 company without breaking a sweat
