Hello I’m Kate At 4 days old I was adopted into a white family, and since I was a little girl I vividly remember my mother struggling to keep up with my hair, although she did try her best. Prysm’s mission is to offer curly hair services and support to families with adopted children with curly hair, but not limit to that community. Since Prysm Salon is a small private space, this makes the perfect environment for communities on the spectrum or anyone who will benefit from a private simpler setting. This is also a supportive space for LGBTQAI, and my goal is to make all who sit in my chair feel seen loved and supported . Can’t wait to see you! Kate xoxo

Kate did an absolutely incredible job on my hair for my wedding! She made my thin hair look full and gorgeous. The style held up ALL night and I felt like an absolute princess! Many of my guests mentioned how gorgeous my hair was. Three of my bridesmaids also had their hair done by her and they all looked perfect. Kate was able to take each of our visions and create the hairstyles that looked best with our hair type. I live all the way in Rockford but I’m planning to come out to Geneva for my hair styling and cuts from now on. Once I have pictures from the wedding I will add them.

Katie is great at what she does. I went in with an inspo video from tiktok and she gave me exactly what I wanted while making sure I was totally ok with the length and style along the way. Highly recommend, will definitely be back!
