I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! the staff is super friendly and pleasant…I been going here for a few years now they are the only ones willing to braid my hair with my hair type being extra fine and thin…I highly recommend this spot !!!

I’ve keep on coming back to this salon for the past year now. Very neat and organized. But it’s very busy on some days here but it’s okay. The ladies here are very nice and peaceful. Very open with their culture and how they speak to one another. I’d recommend coming here!

Unbelievable. This place is no where near professional and honestly I think it should get shut down. Two days ago i walked in the salon because i made an appointment specifically for 1pm. I walk in the salon and people were getting their hair done so I had to wait in the waiting chair, I sat down and they told me that they ran out of hair last minute… I had to literally go to manhattan beauty, and buy hair. I come back, and the stylists are no where near finished the client’s hair so I had to sit in the chair for about 2 and a half hours. After that I finally get called to the seat, but that’s not all. What upsets me is that this place is dirty and very unsanitary. The stylists don’t even clean their combs, who knows what the clients could have on their scalp?? They don’t sanitize the seats, the place is a literal mess and hair is everywhere. Anyways story to be short, I wouldn’t recommend coming to this place. I ended up paying 150 dollars for knotless box braids that LITERALLY looks like regular box braids, last time my other braids were uneven, They talk and gossip LOUDLY on the phone which slows them down from braiding, as well as the fact that I had to sit in that salon for 7 hours.. So no, the appointments aren’t even legit. If you gotta wait you gotta wait, they don’t even reserve seats for you ♀️ ♀️. They told me to get out my seat and sit in the waiting chair so they could do someone else’s hair and then they’ll finish after me.. like what? So you’re telling me I have me to get up out of my seat so you can do someone else’s hair when you aren’t even finished mine ?? WHAT ?? I am so disgusted. I will never step foot back in this salon again and I suggest you, reader, to do the same.

UNPROFESSIONAL!! I normally give place three strikes but this place I can’t. I went to them the first time and my braids started to come loose, had to go back. However I did look around the shop and the chairs were dirty and cloth. You shouldn’t have that in a salon when multiple ppl come in with different type of clothing skin everywhere COVID IS HERE!! Not one wipe down or sanitizing spray down of chairs used for ppl waiting. Not even the braiders client chairs did they wipe down or spray lysol nothing.. The shop is a mess and display cabinets are dirty. Hair thrown everywhere not all neat and hung.. they can’t benefit from cleanliness and organization. They use so many different products if you had an allergic reaction you wouldn’t know which it was. They use the same blow dryer for each person’s head. You don’t know if ppl wash their heads good or what type scalp condition they have. One braider was braiding a clients hair and told another client to come over so she could see their hair texture. She proceeded to touch the new clients hair and then continued to braid client in chair. No handwashing going on in between clients. No hand sanitizer in between clients. The barbicide jar is filled with combs unused with tons of particles inside. Its dirty dirty. Comb fell on thr floor and she picked it up and kept combing the clients hair with it. When do we as clients not care of these conditions. Why use these type places. Make them be clean and neat! Professional! What happen to it? They talk on their phones while doing clients hair, loudly sometimes. Why can’t you wait till in between. Your not as fast when focusing on conversation. Braiders shoe up late late! They need a complete make over in there and make it covid friendly. Show you care about your craft. Money is good but can you make it worth thr clients wild? Organization is key! Work stations nasty even the counter where you pay is dirty you can’t sit you pocketbook up there to get you payment out. Just dang! The lady shows up late about half hour then wanna charge full price. Need to do better! Clean up your shop, take pride! Turn on movies for your clients, music something. Noone wants to hear all of your business and whom your talking about. Oh and they don’t know who knows their language . Just because ppl look black and not African don’t mean they don’t understand what you say!!!!!

Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, ValueSelected this hair salon to get my hair braided. I was a walk in and was told to return at 12 noon to have my hair braided. I returned at twelve and the stylist began my hair at 12 right on time. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she gave me the exact style. Very professional and kind. Im tenderheaded and she never pulled my hair too hard or snatched all of my edges. In fact she left some of my baby hairs out which is exactly what I wanted. I’m very picky when it comes to my hair and have tried several braiders in the neighborhood but I will definitely be returning to Professional Hair Braiding in Pleasantville.Services: Hair extensions, HairstylingSelected this hair salon to get my hair braided.
