This place is small, but very nice and clean. They had a decent selection of polishes. I got the spa pedicure, which included a minty leg mask, paraffin wax dip, massage (not counting the nice massage chairs), foot soak and scrub, with nail trim and cuticle trim, and foot “buffing” (callous remover). The quotes are that I felt that they didn’t quite remove as much of the calluses as I would have preferred; my feet still feel kind of rough, even after all of that. Other than that though, this place is pretty nice. It does seem like the majority of their clientele are rich regulars, which can kind of make you feel out of place, if that doesn’t describe you. A little on the pricier side, too.

I came in for a French manicure and they were able to take me right away. I’m probably the nail client from hell because I’ve heard tons of stories about people having sanitary issues with nail salons and the steriliziation of the tools they use. The girl who worked on me used an emery board that was probably used on a dozen prior people. Those files are super cheap and should either be disposed after every person or after less than 5 people. Then she continued on with the cuticle clipping and the buffing. Here’s where I get really paranoid because I’ve had bad experiences with cuticle clipping and when my fingers start hurting or heaven forbid I see blood (its happened!) I will completely lose it! Granted, this didnt happen here but painful fingers did and I had to tell the girl TWICE that she had clipped enough…and she still wanted to keep going!

Went with my cousins, who go all the time, over Christmas vacation. My brother (in the pic), had never gone for a “mani/pedi” and was whining the whole way over. Clearly he changed his mind. I don’t do this often but I’ll definitely be back. Everyone was so friendly and loved the fact that 2 big dudes were coming in for a lil pampering. Headed back to Lake Bluff this summer, we will definitely be back.
