Have always had a great experience with Rylie. She takes exactly what I want and puts her own twist on it. We’ve also used her for Hair/Makeup/Spray Tan for the Miss Illinois County State Fair Queen Pageant and her skills and knowledge go above and beyond to give an incredible outcome. December 9th 2014 I had my hair done by Rylie Rich (owner of primp hair studio). I was getting my hair lightened and while the bleach was in she put me under a heat lamp (which at the time I didn’t know was a big no-no). She let me sit under the lamp with bleach and foils for what felt like forever and as soon as she came to check the processing, my hair was crumbling to the floor. I was in tears. I had literal bald spots and what did hang on was very thin and very damaged. What was left felt like hay. She still charged me full price which later she gave me a partial refund at the request of my dad who could see both how unhappy I was and how thin and brittle my hair was. Flash forward to this week, and I was talking to this total sweetheart (I’m not going to mention her name bc she did nothing wrong and I think all of her work is gorgeous and that she’s a very kind girl) about doing my hair. We discussed for several days about what I wanted done and she sent me the link to book an appointment with her. After I put my request in I received a message from her saying she unfortunately couldn’t take me as a client because the owner doesn’t like me and she didn’t want things to be uncomfortable. Not her fault, she was just doing what was told of her and even tried to convey the message professionally. So I look into it and lo and behold the owner is Rylie. I felt denying me as a client because of her mistake was very unprofessional, especially when she wouldn’t have even been the one doing my hair. Then upon my review on her FB page which has since been removed she lashed out saying “the customer isn’t always right” and it wasn’t her fault as she had “only been doing hair for two years at the time.” This is a poor way to represent your business and I feel people should be aware of both the service and receptiveness of their beautician before they are stuck in the same predicament as I am.
