They have a different set of professional manners in NY. I Had a 5:30 appointment (day before Valentine’s Day) and showed up at 5:37. Jonathan was gone and closed his shop. He called later to tell me that he didn’t know me, I didn’t respect his time, and that he would rather spend time with his kid. That’s fine but a 10 minute window is universal professional courtesy, no? Am I crazy? My hair is definitely crazy as it’s now too late for me to get a clean up before an important event. He’s a talented barber, but better not be 5-10 min late for a long standing appointment or you’ll be screwed. Was hoping to find a guy closer to home than my current shop in Charlotte but it won’t be here.
