Dana did all the hair for my wedding party and myself, and did a fantastic job! I’ve been to many of their functions at the salon and have always had a great time! My two daughters love going there to get their hair played with and I love that my hair always looks great when I leave! I’ve gone to Shear Art in the past and was always happy with the final product. I went back today for my first time in a few months and absolutely LOVED it. Rachel is so much fun and understood exactly what I wanted. I approached her with wanting a subtle black-violet hair colored and she definitely delivered. I absolutely love this place. First off, I struggled with my thin and extremely static hair for years. This was the case until I met the team at the Shear Art Salon. They provided me with the Shampoo and Conditioner that my hair just loves. No more static hair, at all. This is amazing. Not only did I get the best advice on products, their knowledge about hairstyles and color is the best in town. They recommend what is best for your hair and style, even if it means missing out on an expensive service, such as highlights or perms. I received state of the art professional advice on what will work on my hair, and what would be risky or a waste of money. Dana did a Brazillian Blowout on my hair today and I could not be happier! I have soft, silky straight hair now! And it lasts 12 weeks! I always wanted to have hair like those girls in the shampoo commercials….and now I do! Great value and awesome service, best salon I’ve ever been to! I made a last minute appointment to pixie my hair. J’nae worked very openly with me regarding to my current haircut, face shape, even how I wanted my ears to show, she got down to the exact detail of how I wanted my hair and she made it happen. She ended with teaching me how to style it and offered to trim up anything I didn’t like within the first week. I will be back and highly recommend this place!

I went to this salon over a year ago looking to get a root touch-up. I had originally heard great things about this place so I was excited get my hair done. When I got there I was sat down and the hair stylist said that she didn’t care how her hair turns out when she does it. I was reluctant to proceed but I thought I would give her a chance. The whole process ended up taking 2 plus hours and consisted of her bleaching the ends my hair (which didn’t need to be colored) and bleaching a patch of hair on my scalp. She left the bleach on scalp in for at least an hour before finally washing it out. After my hair was fried (she didn’t bother to style it) and it looked pretty bad. I decided not to complain because I figured it would fade out over time. Over a few months following the appointment I noticed that my scalp was severely burned. My hair fell out at the site of the overtreated patch. My hair became very thin and the ends of my hair lost their curl and broke easily. It got so bad that I was forced to cut my hair very short. Over a year and a half later I am still having problems with my hair. I haven’t gotten it colored since I visited this salon because I am scared it would do additional damage. I don’t remember the stylist’s name and I’m sure the other women there do a good job, but I really wouldn’t risk it. I will never go back here as long as I’m in Missoula. You’re better off going somewhere else.

I have had the worst experiences at some of the salons in Missoula, and so I was nervous to try yet another stylist. However – it was refreshing to know that I was able to schedule an appointment online without any hassle, and that the location was so convenient. When I first arrived I immediately felt welcomed and like I was heard, which is rare for me to feel in salons. My stylist, Rachel, did an absolutely SPECTACULAR job coloring my hair from platinum blonde/white, to a dark copper auburn red. This is a process that many stylists have been nervous about, but Rachel attacked it head on courageously and without effort! When she was finished, I was in awe. A hair stylist has never been able to achieve the exact look that I was looking for up until this moment. The best part was that it cost half of what I would be paying anywhere else. Thank you SO much Rachel and Shear Art Salon for helping me with my hair nightmare! I would recommend this Salon to anyone in the Missoula area.
