I grew up in Melrose and only recently tried Pond View Barber shop! My experience has been the BEST I’ve ever had in any other shop. Great haircut, great prices, best hours and the friendliest staff you’ll meet. I will not go anyplace else now! Above and Beyond would be a great name for it as well! Thank you for providing the best go-to shop in the Area!!!

Feel very lucky I found this place in May 2020. Great barber shop. Having curly hair most barbers struggle but Pond View knocks it out of the park. Great cut, consistent, quick, easy, great guys to talk to as well. Can’t beat the price either. Hoping I will be like the other reviewers in time, saying I’ve gotten my hair cut here for years.

I have been visiting Mike and his sons for more than 25 years. I brought my sons here and when my Mom and Dad used to visit brought them in too. The guys are great and very friendly. Mike is an old world kind of barber. You walk in tell him what you want and it is expertly done. No muss no fuss. They always have a smile at the ready and a lollipop for the kids. If some feel it is a bit more expensive than say the chains, I say for the neighborhood friendliness and great service, who cares if it costs a bit more.

This is a traditional barbershop where you can get a cut and a shave. I’ve been going here for years myself and brought my boys here since they were tiny. The barbers are friendly and are all related. Its a father, a son and a cousin. They’re nice guys who give consistently good haircuts, although I prefer a cut from the younger two. Their prices are completely in line with other barbers in the area. Cheaper, in fact than some. I think its $17 or $18 so $20 if you count the tip. They give out suckers to the kids, which is why my daughters always like going too.

My boyfriend came here and got one of the nicest haircuts he has had in 3 years. He has very complicated hair pattern and the owner was very knowledgeable and cut it in a way that it grew out beautifully, and still looks great a month later.

Just like pizza places, beauty salons, doctors and dentists, there is an abundance of barber shops in Melrose. Glad I found this place first. They do great work and the atmosphere is very comfortable an friendly. I don’t know how they compare on pricing in Melrose (nothing is cheap in this town) but I don’t care. I was happy with them from my first visit so I’ve been going back for quite a few years. In the summer, the late afternoon sun can turn the shop into an oven if it didn’t have air conditioning. On a hot summer day, their air conditioner broke down and they were trying to install a bigger one when I happened to drop by so helped them finish it and was able to get my haircut in cool comfort.
