As far as cutting hair goes, this is the best shop in town. Barbers are awesome, easy to talk to, fair prices, and best men’s cuts in my opinion. My only gripe with Polite is the first come first serve policy. I can’t get a cut during the work week because of my hours. If I show up at or around 3, they are always full through the end of the day. When I show up on weekends, there’s a line at the door 30 minutes before they open, and more folks waiting nearby in their cars, immediately creating a 1-2 hour wait at 10am. It’s a tough call because I WANT my hair cut here, but it’s frustrating coming form out of town and then waiting for 2 hours. I really wish they switched to accept appointments. Perhaps this could also be remedied by employing more than one barber. Great cuts though!

This shop offers only walk in first come first serve haircuts, at least most of the time. Typically I get to the shop about 30 minutes before they open to try to be first or second in line. After arriving at 9:30 I was first in line, so I waited by the door until they open at 10. More people started to gather before the doors were opened a little after 10 by one of the newer female barbers. Shortly after I sat down another man walked in and sat right in the barber chair and the barber started working on his hair. When I asked why she was cutting his hair first and not mine, she responded “I cut his hair yesterday and he wants it trimmed up some more”… Very unprofessional and rude to not only disregard the first come first serve rule of the shop, but also say nothing to me prior to even starting on someone else’s haircut when I got to the shop before the barber even got there. I left after a couple minutes of sitting there in awe.

What a refreshing change from the chain shops. The owner, Mike, was exceptionally polite, attentive to each of his customer and very professional. You didn’t feel as though you were being herded through like cattle. If you are looking for a real world barbershop, this is your place.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First and most importantly, he did a great job with my haircut. Living in Miami, there is a good barber in every corner. It took me two months to find a good barber here and he is it. Lastly, the atmosphere and the conversation was great. Funny and relaxed, even the guys in the waiting area were funny and chill. All around a good experience.

I started going to see Mike in 2017 and have not gone to a different barber in La Crosse since. Mike has not only transformed his shop into a welcoming environment for his clients but he is constantly working on his craft and always trying to learn more when it comes to cutting hair, even though he has been in the business for quite a while now. I can’t say enough good things about Mike and his haircuts! He is constantly trying to find ways to make his clients and people around him happy. Mike is awesome!! I have received many compliments on my hair. It is a must see shop!! Very fun, I mean really what other hair cut place has a pool table and nerf guns to play while you wait!! Love it and Mike it is now the only place I will go for haircuts and color. Highly Highly recommend!!
