I visited this place to get help getting my press-ons off. I walked in and the lady behind the desk said they can fit my in about 30 mins. I come back in 15 mins and wait in their waiting room for the rest of the 15 mins. They don’t come up to me so I brushed it off and assume they are running behind, I said what’s another 15? I’ll just look for a nail color in the meantime and search on Pinterest what design I want. I wait and 45 mins (45 mins after the 30 mins they originally mentioned), the lady behind the desk finally comes up to me and asks to see my nails. The main nail tech finally sees my nails and says that it’ll take a long time to get these off. I can take a hint and assume she wants to come back another day. I told her I can return anytime this week since I live close by and I work from home. I make my appointment for Friday in the afternoon.

Polished has been my best and favorite local go-to nail salon for about 5 years now & I’ve followed them to their new location on Marion because they’re conveniently located to me and usually available when I need a fast mani or pedi. I’ve always received great and quick service from all the different nail techs, I hardly ever get the same person twice but they’ve all done pretty acceptable jobs to me. I usually call ahead of time and once I arrive I normally don’t have to wait longer than 5-10mins. I always get no-chip mani/pedis but recently I preferred the gel overlay manicure but it is not offered at Polished yet and the salon I like to go to is about 35 minutes away from me, so Polished remains my go-to when I need a quick mani or pedi. I’ve never had a bad experience in all my time visiting them so it’s a bit shocking to see all the negative reviews. I always recommend this salon to my friends and will continue to do so!

I don’t write many reviews — I’m generally not that picky. But I think the manicure I got this week warrants a review.

I loved Lily’s service and the outcome of my nails was amazing! The atmosphere was pretty nice and overall my time there was great.

Poor Communication and Very Disorganized. Went in for a pedicure and full set. Very long wait time and I was switched between 3 different workers before I was serviced. Same with my hands. Finally, I get the full set and they overcharge me for no chip polish which I did NOT ask for. I only asked for medium length nails with polish. Charged me extra for cuticle cutting( which should be included) and gave me a paper cut. No apology from the owner.

This salon’s customer service and the proficiency of their nail technicians is low at best. I made an appointment. I called later to adjust the appointment time and they let me know that they were able to fit me in. I walk in, choose my colors, and verbalize that I would like a remarkably simple design. They told me it would be no problem and ask if I can wait for someone to be finished. So I wait. I waited for 38 minutes to be exact, and I was then informed that not only could none of the technicians do the simple 3-line design but that she was “Sorry.” As a mother, this self-care time is egregiously critical. Thank you for a lot of nothing on a Sunday afternoon.

I came in on Friday to get a fill in and a pedicure with 3 broken nails to fix. I told the nail tech (MYRA) that I wanted to take them all off and get a new set. She (MYRA) specifically told me no that my set looked new (which it has only be two weeks) and they were fine to fill over them. I was scratching my hair Sunday and one of my nails broke off. It was after shop hours, so I didn’t bother to call. I was vacuuming my car the next day on Monday and another nail popped off. I had planned on calling them as soon as they opened on Tuesday. The next day, another nail popped off and I called the salon. The manager told me to come in and they will fix them. She gave me her personal number to send her pics of the nails. I did. I also told the manager that I couldn’t come in that day because I work and have to pick up my kid from camp directly after. I scheduled to have my nail fixed on Thursday at 4:30pm. I left work earlier and made arrangements for someone to pick my kid up from camp. When I arrived, the nail tech (MYRA) inspected my nails and asked me were these the nails that she fixed. I told her that I was not sure but she just did the fill in on Friday. She (MYRA) talked to the manager and came back and said she would have to charge me to fix the nails that I was already promised that they would fix. I told her that I asked for a new set and she said no. I spent $85 (plus $15 tip), took of work earlier, time spent, and gas to be treated so poorly. I never make reviews but today was the day because this was highly unprofessional and inconsiderate. I wish I could give them 0 stars. I wish I knew how to add pictures to show the work and the text messages from the manager saying that they would fix my nails! Let me also add that while she was doing my nails and feet, she (MYRA) was told she had a client who made an appointment. She (MYRA) rushed the paint job on my nails and feet because the other workers kept rushing her! I left disappointed but didn’t complain because I understand keeping to schedules.

My go to place a to be honest. There’s a several different nail ships in oak park, but for acrylics/full set/gel nails, this is a go to. They do them very neat and have the best color selection. I’ve been here multiple times. They’ve gotten a lot better since my first visit. People always ask where I get my nails done and the $40-$50 is always well spent. On Lake street too! Super convenient. It’s really nice in polished as well, usually have a Chanel fashion show playing. They know all the shapes and whatever you’re asking for, they know. I’m not really someone who gets designs so I don’t know how well they do them. Love coming here on Tuesday mornings when it’s not busy, but still make an appointment. I have always tipped as well.

Wish I could give zero starts, be prepared to walk into a fraud! Usually, I would highly recommend this nail salon. They usually do a very nice job on no-chip manicures and pedicures. However, my recent experience has changed my view completely. While, I got a no-chip manicure and eye waxing when I checked out it turned out that I only got charged for the $8 eyebrow wax. About an hour later I started receiving calls from two different numbers which I did not know. Since, I was driving at the time I did not answer and no voicemail was left. Once, I got home I called the number back and the employee told me they forgot to charge me for the no-chip manicure. I said okay and they told me they could either take the card number over the phone or I could come in to pay for the service. I told them I would come in and pay for it. When I got to the store they told me that they charged the no-chip manicure through as a tip, without notifying me at all and even though I put zero in the tip line and didn’t add one when prompted on the credit card machine. Also, this store prefers cash tips, I wonder why (i.e. tax evasion!). I told the salon employee I wanted to speak to a manager and they told me I would have to come back tomorrow morning. Turns out they refunded me the amount and then had to recharge me. I find this incident extremely suspicious and untrustworthy. I think this establishment does do nice work but if you want to leave your credit card and financial identity with them I would go somewhere else since this area has no lack of responsible and respectable spas/salons!
