Critical: Professionalism, ValueI would not recommend, this place finds a way to make their money even if it is on the edge of being a scam. I was told upon signing up that I could pause a month or two if I found myself unable to do that month, I was not told they would still charge a percent so the following month I decided I didn’t like this shady business I would just cancel my membership. The girl I spoke to said they would get it taken care of and apparently did not because I was still charged extra than normal btw. I called to ask why I was still getting charged and they said I never canceled, since they didn’t note it I apparently didn’t do it. So they then inform me that when I do cancel I will still be charged for 2 months and told me that I was told this upon signing up, I was but they made it sound like they are asking for members to not cancel for two months not that they would keep 2 months of dues after canceling. Again shady so I asked if that was what my charge was about, she said no I never canceled that was just my dues for the month and to top it all off they would not cancel for this month either stating that I would have to call back after the 1st cancel the following month and then pay my two months. So in essence I canceled and still have to pay 4 months because it was never noted in my account that I wanted to cancel and the it was “too late” to allow me to cancel. I feel this whole thing is a scam and please be prepared to possibly be ripped off if you use this company. They provided good service but not worth the amount of money you ultimately lose to this place. I have been a member here for a long time and my experience has only been first-rate. The staff is welcoming, sociable, and on the ball with product and service knowledge. Under the new ownership, my experience has been further enhanced..I’ve noticed I get tanned faster because the bulbs have been replaced, the staff is better trained, and the bathroom has never been cleaner. I honestly don’t see what some people are complaining about regarding the billing? It has always been straight forward and I have never had a problem or issue there. I am a frequent walk-in and they always seem to have a service available where I don’t have to wait or have an appointment. But at peak hours I would make an appointment. All in all, great place.

The employees here are 5 star, but I am giving this location 2 stars for their policies and the fact that they should consider each customer be treated as someone special. Not just “that is our policy and we cant do anything about it”. I signed up only a month ago. There are continuous issues with their app that must be used to schedule your appointment to tan. You think you have an appointment, only to arrive and be asked if you received a confirmation email. There is always a delay with these emails. It is beyond frustrating. I tried to cancel my service today, and after 3 attempts to reach someone that could help me, I am being told you have to give 60 days notice. That is twice as long as I have even been a member. When I told her that it wasn’t disclosed to me, she said it was in the contract I signed. I feel this is misleading because I was told that if I decided to join, I could cancel at any time. I understand it is my responsibility to read the contract before I signed it. I run a business as well and we have policies. However, I realize that my customers are people that we want to come back one day. They also have friends and we want them to share their experience of us with their friends. If someone has only been a member for 1 month, it seems wrong to make them pay for 2 in order to get out of their contract. At what point do we stop caring about the individual and only focus on policy. I regret that I didn’t read the reviews before I signed up. It seems that there are more people than just myself that are having issues like this.

I love this place! Everyone who works here is so helpful. I’ve been to a few tanning salons, but this one by far is the best! Alaina and Paige really worked with me and helped me understand the different things that you can do! I have never had such an amazing experience. The spray tanning to hydration is amazing. I recommend everyone to this Planet Beach! Thanks again girls!!!

I joined a few months ago and none of the girls who work there tell you the same information. When I joined they told me that I could cancel my membership at anytime and if I wanted to freeze my account it would only be $5. I called about canceling my membership and a different girl told me that it’s 2 months upfront pay before you can cancel it. So I then decided that I would freeze my account. And like before they said it would only be $5 but I am getting charged $9. And then this month they charged me $9 and then another $35 in fees because my card got declined on the first of the month, which it usually never comes out on the first anyway. Then after all of that half the people who work there don’t know any information about the beds that they have. And also one of the beds were broke for a few weeks so I couldn’t even do half the things that I wanted to do there.

I absolutely love Planet Beach in Covington. It is such a great place to unwind after I get off of work and is something I can realistically achieve amazing results in a short period of time so I am still able to cook dinner and have time for my family in the evening. I am able to schedule an appointment so that I do not have to wait on services and the staff are always ready to welcome me. I enjoy the hydration station to unwind and have aromatherapy while hydrating my skin and even burning some calories! I spray tan every Friday which always comes out perfectly. (I have not had that result at other places). If I’ve had a rough day there is always the massage chair to help me relax. I actually just tried the facial too and it has already made my skin look more even after one time! I could go on and on. Do yourself a favor & go visit the awesome staff there. You won’t regret it!

The staff is very nice and helpful. This is a complaint about their business practices and not the service. I called for a spray tan and was told “we don’t discuss prices over the phone because they are customized.” I knew that was BS because the prices aren’t different based on each person, they just won’t tell you because it’s a lot more than the spray tans at other places. I said “well I already have an appointment somewhere else where it’s $30.” The girl said “It’ll be around that price.” That was a lie, but again not really the employee’s fault she was just following the rules. In fact, it’s $51 for a single spray tan. They try to upsell you and that is annoying, but understandable. I’m most annoyed about the absolute refusal to tell me the price of the services they provide when I called. It’s not weird for a customer to ask about a price. Why would anyone want to pay $21 extra dollars when they don’t have to?

If there would be a negative star rating, that’s what I’d rate them. I was a customer at this location a couple of years ago and after reading thru these google reviews, I see literally nothing has changed…you’ll give them your bank account number to pay for your tanning, and later realize that you’re getting charged a great big “cancellation fee”. It happened to me, and Paige was rude and unprofessional when I presented her with these BS charges on my bank account. If I can offer one bit of advice regarding planet beach in Covington: for the love of GOD, do NOT give them your banking info, unless you’re ok with being charged for services you do not receive. That is all.

Please do not do business with this place. I was charged over $700 after not signing a contract here. The manager Paige acknowledged that I never signed a contract. She told me it had to be a mistake with one of her employees. Then to compensate for charging my debit card without my permission and reporting me to collections as the account had been closed and I had no idea these charges were being made, she offered me a “free” membership. It is not free if you stole $700 from me. I left a review on the facebook page, a lot of people came forward commenting on my review as well as sending me messages about how they had similar issues. She then blocked the reviews from view on facebook. She wont answer my messages or calls. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. I was also told by mulitple people that after the same thing happened to them, they agreed to the “free” membership, and they were conned into signing a contract for the free membership and once again charged for a membership. It seems as though they cannot get business without forcing people into fradulent contracts.
