I went to Plant Beach for a spray tan before my wedding day. My skin is terribly dry in general and I have a hard time with spray tans taking to my skin nicely, but Jackie went above and beyond to ensure that my tan was perfect, and sold me the right lotion to keep my tan looking beautiful for 8 days straight! That is by far the longest I’ve had a spray tan last, and my skin feels great.

The facility is extremely clean. All machines are clean and go above and beyond expectation. If you are looking for a spa that has multi use (anti-aging, relaxation, tanning, detox, rejuvenation, weight loss) this is the best establishment to satisfy all those desires. The products are 100% organic (except some tanning lotions) and are life changing. The anti-aging kit is worth every penny as is their spray tans.

I cannot recommend Planet Beach as the contracts they require you to sign to use their services are not in the customer’s favor. There are penalties for canceling your contract and many services are an up charge from your monthly fee. I finally went in to cancel my contract because I pretty much stopped using it once the owner instituted a “solution fee” to use the spray tan services. This fee is anywhere from $10-$20 a session depending on what type of session you want. I used the equivalent of 2.5 months of services over three years and asked if they would waive the two month cancellation notice fee. The owner refused saying it was part of the contract I signed. She said I used $2400 worth of services in 67 visits and didn’t that make me feel better? No it didn’t especially since my reason for having the membership was to use the unlimited spray tan services which went away within the first year I was a member (shame on me for not canceling then). Another bone of contention was that the owner said that I could have put my membership on hold for up to 6 months at a time instead of continuing to pay a monthly fee while I wasn’t using it. I told her I had asked on at least 3 occasions and was told each time that 30 days was the maximum amount of time a membership could be put on hold. Unfortunately I learned my lesson too late but hope I can save others from what happened to me – over paying for pseudo spa services. Do not enter into any contracts with this Planet Beach franchise. You will wind up paying much more than you will ever get from this place. There are legitimate spa services available in Helena with providers who won’t nickel and dime you like they do at Planet Beach. Patronize those businesses instead. You will be much happier in the end.

Beware when you want to end your enrollment from Planet Beach. Since I remembered from earlier they require 60 days notice to terminate, I gave a verbal notice in February that we would be ending our use on April 30. The automatic payments continue in May so I call & report the issue. Now they say I need to sign a cancellation form, and June payment is made as well. So beware if you think you can leave this establishment when you tell them. The so called contract does nothing for the customer. They don’t deserve one star.
