Excellent quality hair color and cuts at affordable prices for Boston/Cambridge. The only drawback of the entire place is that they dont seem to be able to send a confirmation email/calendar invite after you book so you actually have to write down the date and time yourself…so very 1990… ;-).

I have been going to Rick, the owner of Plan B salon for at least five years and I have loved every cut and color he has given me. In my experience when you are a long term client stylists sometimes take you for granted and start giving you the same quick cut over and over. Every time I sit in the chair Rick asks me what I want to do with my hair as if I had come in for the first time. I get tons of compliments on the color. Rick gets it just right. The salon is clean and convenient, the staff friendly and competent and Rick’s dog Dexter might just be there to say hi! I’ve never regretted a penny spent here.

I would highly recommend Jadie. She was friendly and warm. I’m picky about my hair (I have wavy hair and a short asymmetrical pixie cut). She listened to my reservations (I’ve had mostly average experiences in the past at other salons) and helped talk me through how she would approach the cut. The result was fantastic. It’s now over 6 weeks on and still looking good even though it’s growing out.

I’ve been going to PlanB for a year after moving to Cambridge and finding their location and prices to be ideal. I’ve seen Rachel for cut and Balayage color about 3 times and have been very happy with the results. Rachel is very detail oriented and spends time with you to understand what color you want and the placement of the highlights. If the cut/ color doesnt end up exactly how I intended, she is also quick to action to fix it so I leave happy.

My stylist was super friendly and did an amazing color correction. Very cozy salon with dogs that visit. They also carry olaplex which was a major plus for me. The prices are great for the location, talent and products offered.

I went here because I read a review that it was a good value for what you get, but $60 for a trim and an average blow dry doesn’t seem that great to me. It was a good quality cut, but otherwise pretty basic.
