Not my regular massage shop but I was happy they were available and I’ve never had a massage where the person walks on your back. That kind of massage isn’t for everybody but it’s definitely for me and I really enjoyed it. It was my first time having that and I thought it was amazing and extremely intense. I have some very deep pain that I needed dealt with and they did a great job using this method.

I would not recommend this massage place. They started 15 minutes late, went in and out of the room to greet customers, harassed me for a tip, she wore rubber gloves, the language barrier caused confusion, they used very cheap products that smelled bad, and caused a lot of pain in my back. Not enjoyable at all.

Ok! This massage therapist found pain I didn’t know I had! Thank you! Hot stones too! Excellent! And I am hard to please! I have seen other posts about “language” issues. There was a little language barrier bc I speak only English, but she asked what I wanted and she understood me. I asked for deep tissue and qhen it was too hard she was gentler. She did a fantadtic job and all the masseuses abd measseurs were friendly, respectful and accommodating. Definitely will go back!

The service I received here was amazing. Very kind and accommodating. This was not just a simple, regular massage. She was very thorough with each muscle and part of my body. She stretched, massaged and manipulated each area of my body. I walked out of there feeling better then I ever had. I would highly recommend this hidden gem. I will now be going weekly with my girlfriend for our couples massage.

I was looking for a place that could take appointments on short notice and provide an excellent massage. Ping Wellness Center delivered both. I called at 10:30 AM and got a same day appointment for my husband and I at 1 PM (hello to Massage Envy who are booked out for 6 weeks ). We were greeted by a two friendly women in a simple, but very clean facility. What they call a “couples massage” is a discounted rate for a couple. Normally, they charge a person $90 for a 90 minute massage. With a “couple’s massage”, it’s $80/ person for a 90 minute massage (in separate rooms, which is fine by me). They are that you pay for the massage up front. The massage itself was fabulous. I noticed the ashiatsu bars and asked if she could walk on my back and she did a great job with that. I like a deep tissue massage and she was able to go very deep, but checked in with me several times on the amount of pressure. Hot stones were applied along with a hot compress to remove any oil. She also did 20 minutes of foot reflexology. There have been lots of comments in the reviews about tipping. Here’s my take on it. It would be hard to find a spa where you can get a 90 minute massage with ashiatshu, hot stones, reflexology and more for less than $160. Our masseuses worked hard and I’m guessing they rely heavily on tips. When my husband opened his wallet and pulled out a twenty, his masseuse politely gestured more. Being good natured, he gave her another twenty (he probably would have given her a five or ten if he had any). His masseuse was so happy. When I came out of my room, his masseuse made sure I gave my masseuse $40 also. And, you know what? We got awesome massages on a moment’s notice at the same time for $120 each. I have no problem with that.

My boyfriend and I called probably ten places not getting any answers. My initial plan was to have to schedule something a week or two out for a couples massage. When they answered and said they could get us in same day we were taken aback. I begged him to go in and try it out because my place has been booked out a month or more since Covid ended and they were offering 99 dollar couples massages where as we just spent 430 (including 20% tip) elsewhere a week prior for Valentine’s Day. So, we agreed to go after the gym.

I feel like my massage was wrapped in a giant misunderstanding. I came in only because everywhere else was booked. Yes, I was desperate. My shoulders felt like they were resting on my ears. My back muscles were twitching. I’ve been working 6 days a week and I’m 6 weeks post op from shoulder surgery. My masseuse and I couldn’t communicate. I wanted to tell her all this but no. Neither of us spoke each other’s language proficiently. Even though I called in advance, when I came in I was asked how long I wanted. I said an hour and they had me prepay $60. I asked just for top up and I did not undress below the belt leaving my yoga pants on. This drew a laugh from my masseuse but I felt like that was the only way I could tell her I wanted my back and shoulders worked on. I’ve never had anyone walk on me. That was new and was okay except my pelvis was too bony to handle that. Since there was so much tension and stiffness in my shoulders, I found it impossible to tell my masseuse that her touch both tickled and was tender. Combined with the language barrier, my muscles just kept slipping under her touch. My muscles usually hold so much tension that they slip out of everyone’s hands. I couldn’t express this. I felt a little guilty. It was really rough. I think my masseuse was the only person at the shop though. The phone rang. People stopped in and she was the only one to answer the door. The hot stones were wonderful though. I loved that. When I went to leave, the lady gave me my credit card receipt back so I could give a tip. Okay, so I wrote what I thought was appropriate, but she was watching me the whole time. “20!!! 20!!!” “What?” “Everyone gives $20!!!!” “But that’s way more than 20%.” She walked away and I adjusted my tip to be more but not $20. I was so embarrassed. But why am I embarrassed? Needless to say my back feels better ahead of the work week, but I will not be returning here. I am so embarrassed and I don’t know why.

Positive: Professionalism, QualityMy favorite place for massage. I’ve been to all of the spas and many practitioners in the Portland area. If you are looking for quality bodywork go to Ping. Spare yourself the hassle and fluff of other massage places with their fancy furniture and awnings. The massage therapist at Ping are very skilled , accommodating and consistent. The price allows for me to go once a week and live a happier and calmer life. Go. The outside may be a little off putting but once you’re inside, they treat you like family.
