I have a loose curl, but finding a place that gave me the results I wanted has been hard until now! I saw that Personal Expressions specialized in curly hair and was extremely excited to give it a go after reading such positive things. After many failed attempts elsewhere, I got an appointment with Metta who was very personable and knowledgeable about curls. I showed her a picture of a haircut I received years ago and absolutely loved, in hopes that she could mimic it. Needless to say, she somehow exceeded my expectations and I left with an even better cut! I will be recommending PE and Metta to everyone, especially if they have curls!

A few weeks ago I went in for a curly haircut, everyone in this establishment was super friendly and super sweet. But unfortunately, the haircut was not what I thought I was going to receive. The haircut was very uneven and very choppy. I’ve received a curly cut in the past so I know the length isn’t the problem there’s just no style or shape to this haircut. I’ve been trying my best to make it work but the haircut is just too uneven to put up or leave out. I am very displeased with the curly cut I received. If you have curly hair this place is not the place to go.

I returned to Nicole M today – she has so much talent! She has taught me a ton about how to style my natural waves. Something I really appreciate about her is the way she is highly consultative especially when it comes to color. If you tell her what you’re looking to do, she’ll consult on the best way to get there and she’s not afraid to speak up if she thinks there’s a better option. It’s HUGE to find a stylist who takes the time to truly listen and is not afraid to be honest about what she thinks is best for your hair. It’s a rare find! She’s an artist and a professional. I’ll stick with her and I recommend her!

Being new to the curly girl life Rebekah took the time to explain how to work with my hair and products to use.For this most recent visit I had Metta as my stylist. She listened to what I wanted from my hair cut and how I styled it. The cut she gave me was exactly what I wanted. She even was able to get a little more volume from my fine curly hair.Both times the staff was very welcoming and never felt pressured to buy certain products.This is second time going to PE both times had great experiences. This is a place that specializes in curly hair, though they cut all types of hair, as well as men’s hair. I’ve seen great men’s cuts there! Being trained for curly hair means they are more highly trained and have better understanding of all hair types than other hair dressers.

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueThis is the worst haircut I have ever had!! To start off my visit they were running late, which is understandable since they were short staffed, but what was more horrible than anything was that my stylist did not respect my wishes and completely chopped my hair. I specifically told her I wanted to keep as much length as possible and she cut off a substantial amount and did not change the shape of my hair at all. She was completely distracted my whole visit ( tended to other clients, on the phone and overall distracted by an issue with her assistant)!
