We loved everything about this nail salon. Right when we walked in, we were welcomed with drinks and sat immediately.

I have been to many nail salons in Miami, Milwaukee, and DC and have loved this place since the first time I got my nails done there. They are extremely kind, no appointment needed, and always do a fantastic job. They offer complimentary tea, water, juice, wines, and mimosas with each appointment so my friends have been pleased each time I brought them. My guests have even pointed out that when it comes to Gel manicures, they don’t make the polish thick, even when needing to use extra coats.

I’ve been coming to Persimmon Nails for almost 2 years now. I always have a great experience. It can get busy sometimes, so I recommend making a reservation but they accept walk-ins too. I can be a bit rough with my nails but whenever I break one they always fix it free of charge. It’s that type of service that keeps me coming back. I normally go to Dee Dee if I want designs but if it’s just a normal gel manicure/pedicure or fill in I’ll go to whoever is available.

Shortly after landing in DC for vacation from Tx I broke one of my dip nails pretty bad. I went into panic mode researching to find a good place to get my nails redone. 4pm on a Friday and they didn’t hesitate getting me in. All were friendly and I’ve never had such a great set of dipped nails, seriously. None of them seemed to be rushing their clients and they all seemed to be talking to their regulars like old friends. Seems like a great place to go if I lived here.

I called the salon for cuticle removal and eyebrow waxing. I told the tech on the phone that i had acrylic on my nails and only need my cuticles tended to. She then took $5 of the original price as i would not be getting a full manicure. Cool. I get to the shop and she starts with my eyebrows. I like them thin but during the whole session she felt the need to tell me that I’m taking too much hair because most people like theirs thick. I’m me, not them. Then she asked me my age because I’m “so particular” about making sure my brows are thin and even, so she says. What does my age have to do with that? If I’m paying my money, of course I expect it to look how I want, not how ig models or anyone else gets them. Next, it’s time for my manicure BUT she turns me away saying it would look better if I go back to the salon who did my set and have them do it. What would be the difference? All I needed was a cuticles cleaned up. My nails did not matter. I believe she was upset because I asked her to make sure my eyebrows were cleaned and shaped good. It was a horrible experience. I will not be returning. These nail techs are not like they used to be. Ive been getting my nails done for 16 years. I am a 31 year old dental professional, since they must know, and i don’t appreciate my time being wasted.

This nail salon is not recommended. I had a bad experience at this nail salon a few weeks ago. I went on a Friday afternoon, and it was extremely busy, which was understandable, so a worker asked if we could wait, and we did. We were seated for our pedicures after about 20 minutes of waiting. We had to wait another 15 minutes after they sat us down. While my friends were being serviced, it was my turn. Before the service began, a worker asked what gel color I wanted for my toes, and I pointed to a neutral pink color, to which the worker replied that my black skin was “too dark” for that color. I was taken aback. When I heard that, I was shocked and asked her to repeat herself. She then continued to tell me I was too black for the color I wanted, and I told her that as a black woman, I am neither too dark nor too black. I’m fine the way I am, so I gathered my belongings and prepared to leave. When I tried to leave the worker, her manager tried to stop me, saying, “Oh, she’ll do the color you want,” but the damage had already been done. They then lied to my friends, claiming that I had left for no apparent reason.

They were great! I love chatting with them while getting my nails done. Very accomodating. My friend was waiting and they invite him to just come sit with us so he was not lonely in the waiting area

I messaged them through google service asking if they did walk in and they replied within 20 minutes. I went and got a full set of nails done. They turned out beautifully and they were so nice. I will return again next time I visit DC again.

I went in for a fill and the lady didn’t even clip/cut my cuticles. Causing them to lift after a week. I spent 60 dollars to look good for one week. Are you kidding ?? Plus tip. Seems like they only care about getting you in and out, than quality. Very disappointed. Would not come again Acrylic nails

I am so happy that I came across persimmon nail spa! It’s such a warm and friendly environment and very sanitary, which was extremely important to me during this time. The technicians sanitize everything after every guest and the safety precautions are not only posted, but also followed. My lovely technician also gave me a cute cloth mask which I thought was a sweet touch. Most importantly, I loved how my nails turned out and how stylish and chic they are. I would definitely recommend you swing by and check this salon out. Treat yourself, you deserve it!
