I had the pleasure of meeting Pat , the barber today for a haircut. Pat is an old school down to earth man that’s been cutting hair for years. Today I was looking for a last minute haircut and had called a few other shops in the area with no availability. Let me express to you that Ive had the same barber for nearly 9 consecutive years in Massachusetts until i began working down in Pennsylvania. Pats shop is a very welcoming old school feel establishment, there are small chips in the paint and dings and dents here and there, but lets face it. I was there for a haircut not to learn about renovations and painting. I learned from Pat he’s been occupying this shop since 1975. One of the bad reviews id previously read was about Pat “taking too long” which I didn’t understand. If you want a good hair cut it’s not going to be quick and if you want a quick haircut its bot going to be good. To be honest, Pat reminded me of the grandfather I never had in my life with a few of his back in the day stories and quick laughs he expressed to me. Pat is a man of loyalty, hard work and good character (he also gives a phenomenal cut).

I’ve seen people in their 80s, teens, pre teens and all ages between. If you feel like talking Pat will chat with you, it’s a good way to catch up on what’s going on in the area. Pat has cut my hair 8-9 in the 2 years I’ve lived here and each haircut has been great, if you decide to go shorter in the middle of the process Pat will take care of it. This was a simple, quick haircut for me with some easy conversation and minimum guidance on the cut. The authentic barbershop could use a slight facelift, but you can tell that Pat is trusted by locals to do what he does well. Cash only here, Gents – he even uses an antique cash register.

I have been going here for 15 years and have always had a great cut. Appointments are not allowed so you may have to wait a little bit during busy times but it is well worth it.
