I’ve met a few in my day that do the most with my hair when I am very simple. I’m talking about if I ask for a layered pixie, my hair will be in a pixie, but it will have bumps and curls and all other types of nonsense on top making my hair at least 3 inches high. I won’t like it, but the hair stylist will be so proud of her work, and I’ll smile, say thank you and never return. My hair would often feel very stiff from the use of products and like a hot comb was ran through it.I’m 27 years old and here I am trying out a NEW hair salon with no referral or real insight. I just happen to follow the 5 star google and Facebook reviews. Though the amount of clientele (32) was a bit small in my opinion, I often have to remind myself that people often don’t review everything they go to.I did do research and saw that Patricia had a very diverse clientele with all races shapes and sizes she posted on her Facebook. This is what drew me to her as shown from her work she knew how to work with different types of hair regardless of texture.Well, Patricia’s Dominican Hair Salon is a best well kept secret. This woman’s hands are golden. I called on a Friday afternoon to be seen, and my goodness, they got me in on Saturday due to the “2 customer at a time policy” with Covid going on.I wanted a completely new look. I am going through a lot of things and the best thing for me was to change my look entirely! I had asked for a baylage and bob. Before going in on Saturday, I had already prepped my hair with deep conditioners Crece Pelo and Emergencia because I had literally fried my hair from flat ironing and blow drying, so my ends were a mess. I wasn’t sure if I would be seen soon, so it actually worked out in my favor. Patricia (owner) did my hair in baylage, but she also gave me her recommendations about the color and damage. I didn’t know what I wanted in color exactly, only that I wanted change from my usual curly style everyday.I was very nervous because I wasn’t sure how thing would go, but being inside of Patricia’s salon was like being in someone’s home. The music was beautiful, another customer was dancing and enjoying herself. It felt like home here immediately. So much so, I began to close my eyes and drift to sleep on many occasions.A bit later, Patricia showed me how my color was changing in my hair and she explained the process as well. Later, after blow drying she was cutting my hair and even showed me what the back was looking like. To tell you the truth, I was nervous kept my eyes partially closed.My hair was parted, then flat ironed. Moments later, I hear, “Senorita you are done! I love the color.”I turned to her mirror for the big reveal, and almost wanted to pass out. I didn’t recognize myself, but I immediately felt so sexy and amazing! And my hair?? Bouncy!!! Like I had a wig on! I had never had bouncy hair I could easily run my hands through. My hair wasn’t greasy or weighed down. The bounce was unbelievable!! I’m talking about if I ask for a layered pixie, my hair will be in a pixie, but it will have bumps and curls and all other types of nonsense on top making my hair at least 3 inches high.
