First visit, but not my last! Ms. Patrica is so friendly and professional. The salon is clean and spacious . Vivian, a new stylist did my hair and I love it. I was in and out and had so much fun chatting that I felt right at home. BEWARE: She takes lots and lots of pics!!! LOL This is a positive beware warning.

I don’t have a lot of time for hair care these days but Ms. Patricia hooked me up with the Marley twists I’ve been dreaming of for a minute and she did it in less than 4 hours!

I’ve had my hair braided by Ms. Patricia twice, first box braids then Marley twists. Both were neat and service took around 5 hours. Her default parting style is circles, so you must ask for other parting before she starts your head. Each time, she showed me a practice braid to make sure I liked the style, which I appreciated. My box braids held up for 8 weeks while still looking neat (where my hair ended wasn’t extremely bushy, except towards the back). The issue is scheduling. Since she works in the salon by herself, she’s the only braider. The current system is that you text her when you would like an appointment and pay a $25 deposit. Today, during my service, 2 women came in claiming to have appointments. Unfortunately, she booked herself for 8am, 10am, and 12pm. My service started at 8am and finished at 1pm. There is no scheduling site yet so you are reliant on what she says her availability is. Obviously, this system is not perfect. The price she gives you includes hair, labor, and the $25 deposit you pay upfront. I paid $200 total for small, waist length box braids and $250 total for medium, waist length Marley twists. She does not wash and blow dry your hair, although the salon has both a blow dryer and sink. She says there is a $10 service charge for wash and blow dry, but did not add that on to my service. I would’ve preferred it, but I respected her choice. While I think Ms. Patricia is a genuinely kindhearted person, some of the things she said are extremely personal and made me uncomfortable. My first experience with her was much better than my second. Make sure to be as clear as possible with her about what you’re paying for and when the appointment is. She almost gave me Senegalese twists when I asked for Marley twists due to a hair color issue. A client asked for her service to be moved to 12(pm), which was misinterpreted as May 12th. She will put pictures of your hair on her Facebook when your service is complete.

I am so impressed with Patricia’s African Braiding salon. The owner Patricia is warm, friendly and talented! I love my box braids! The best part is I was in and out of the salon in four and a half hours! I would not hesitate to book another appointment with Patricia!
