Our Owner, Kate Prouty, trained at the Mayo Clinic and was on the Massage Faculty at LCC. We specialize in treating people with cancer, fibromyalgia, and other complex or serious conditions. Sessions include heated table, hot weighted cushions, aromas, hot towels, and skilled and sensitive massage techniques.

I came in a little nervous because it was my first time ever having a massage. Katherine is absolutely wonderful, she answered every question, asked and listened to me explain my spinal condition and how it effects me and where I have pain, and was able to really help me with my pain. She made sure I was okay with pressure and heat as well. I can tell this place has a passion for helping people. I left feeling amazing because for once I wasnt in constant pain. I cant wait to come back.

I’ve been to Patient Relaxation twice. Once at the former location in Lansing with Kate and today with Ericia at the Okemos location. Both times were amazing. Both massage therapists are phenomenal. I love the addition of hot towels and essential oils and the room is very relaxing. Patient Relaxation truly is my favorite place for massages.

I’ve had quite a few massages with different masseurs around the world and I have to say that Kate is one of the best. She took time at the beginning to get to know me and my concerns/requests. With that small amount of information, she provided a massage that was spot on. Not too much or too little time spent on one area. Not too much or too little pressure – just right to feel relaxed but also know that she was working on relieving tightness, knots, and tensions. The room was clean and pleasant – I loved the essential oils, hot towels, and lotion/oil that she used. I will definitely be returning!
