I tried to cancel with this company several times via email, phone, however die to their policy I wasn’t able to because you had to physically go in and sign a form. At the time I was working 12 hour days and had moved an hour away from their location. I tried explaining to them why I couldn’t go into their location and was told to call corporate office. They did nothing for me!

Be very careful of these people. You cancle your membership and they still charge your account. They have been charging my cc for 5 years. The DA is now involved for fraud. Also contact channel 5 news

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueIf I could give this company 0 starts I would, but google will not allow it. the following is a letter I just mailed to the corporate office and explains my situation with this company:About two years ago I opened a membership with your company, to which I was always very pleased with the services you provided up until recently. In March of 2020, I emailed your company through your customer contact on your company website at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic requesting that my services be placed on hold do to the shutdown. I never heard back from your company in the months that followed, all the while my bank account was still being charged with the monthly fee of $34 and some change. I did not step foot back into a Palm Beach Tan location until July of 2020. On July 26th of 2020 I went back into my local salon when the governor opened back up non-essential businesses. I tanned as I usually do and went about with the rest of my day. I did not come back to PBT for several months later. I ended up catching the corona virus and was at home in quarantine along with my family for several weeks. I called and left several voicemails requesting that my services be completely cancelled along with sending multiple emails. I still have screenshots of all the call logs and sent emails from me to your company. I never heard a response from anyone, all the while I continued to be charged on my bank account for services I was not using and was trying to cancel. After several failed attempts to reach anyone from your company, I called my local PBT tan and asked if I was able to cancel my membership over the phone as no one from corporate was answering my calls. She told me that I would still need to come in and sign to cancel. On October 18th of 2020 I went into the ***********, OH PBT location to cancel my account. When the girl working the front counter went to cancel my membership out, she asked if I had already canceled my membership almost 4 months prior, to which I responded to with no, as I had still been getting charges from the company and never heard back from corporate. She then informed me that on June 5th of 2020 my account was terminated for nonpayment of an outstanding balance, which is not correct seeing as my bank account shows charges from every month. Then, much to both of our surprise, we were both confused as to why it shows in my account the last time I came in and tanned was July 26th of 2020. She and I both questioned as to why I was one, not informed of my account being cancelled on that day and two, why I was even allowed to tan on a supposed terminated account.Two days later I then filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against your company. My complaint was received by the BBB on 10/20/20. On 10/27/2020, the BBB received a response from your company (I have attached a copy of the report in this letter). I responded on 10/30/20, to which I have still yet to have not received a response, even though on 11/16/20 it shows your company received my response on 11/16/20.I am still requesting a refund for the services that I have been charged for. I do not want a two month free membership with your company. At this point, I don’t even want to step foot back into one of your locations again.Coming from someone who has worked in customer service their whole life, I understand it can be hard to get back to everyone in a timely matter, especially with the pandemic. But in my opinion, and I am sure you can agree, 8 months with multiple complaints from one customer is unacceptable. This is extremely poor customer service on your company’s part and you are not making a good name for your company. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever had to deal with. I called because i signed up on march 3rd and found i was pregnant and needed to cancel. I didnt call until the 27th of march. They told me i passed the 25th so they can’t stop the payment for the next month. I cancelled my account within 30 days and they still charged me for april. They are sneaky and didnt tell me anything about the 25th last day for cancellation but yet have a 30 day money back guarantee policy. I cancelled it today april 1st which is clearly within 30 days. I called corporate trying to be nice and the “manager” in corporate said she couldnt refund me for april even though i cant use it. And then when i asked for her name she said she didnt know her own name. So now i have to dispute with my bank and call back to get my 30 day guaranteed prorated refund… plus the money back for april they charged me. Ridiculous…. whoever the manager is in Corporate needs to be fired because they dont even know their own policies

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueCovid-19Chanhassen, Mn location shut down as they should during Covid-19.We normally put our accounts on freeze and only use 2 months leading up to spring break trips. Left 3 messages at this location to put our account on hold so that we didn’t get charged when they re-open. No returned calls. They re-opened and never told anyone it was coming and charged everyone and will and would not refund anyone. Emails of re-opening came days after they charged our accounts. They where planning on charging no matter what i’m sure because they needed the money. What about use? The family of four with both Mom and Dad laid-off from Covid-19? I left 2 messages at this location and message was passed to manager with no return calls. Gave up knowing that my wife and I can do way more damage with social media. The worst business ever. I’m having to file an official complaint with the BBB about my being charged after having cancelled my membership. The “customer care” is a joke; the district manager sent one email response saying she was looking into the problem and then I never heard from her again. I’d advise staying away from this business; there are so many other tanning salons to choose from!
