Critical: ProfessionalismWow. Just left Palm Beach Tan on Bay Area Blvd. They flat out stole my money and on top of that Janene, the front desk girl won’t even call a manager to fix the problem. She admitted their screw up then told me “oh well”. Worst part is now I’m going on my vacation tomorrow super untanned even though I bought an expensive package and am physically here to tan. Apparently staff can’t do anything to fix your account without a manager and won’t even call a manager who can fix the issue. She said “the manager already left and won’t come back”. I wish I could remember her name, red head store manager, amazing lady. I went in and told her I’m uneducated about tanning in general, she was super informative and helpful. Place is really clean, nice than I expected. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because their lotions are dumb expensive. It wasn’t a surprise to me though because I looked it up before I went, but this $100 lotion better change my life lol.

I just cancelled my membership after being a member here for five and a half years, paying one of the highest memberships there is. Why did I cancel? I came in at 9:25, knowing that they close at 10. The new guy working told me that he was sorry and that I couldn’t use the booth, because there was a girl in front of me and he would need to clean after her. I asked him if it takes 30 minutes to clean the booths? He said “no, but he just doesn’t let anyone go after 9:30 and she would be getting done after 9:30”. I went out to my truck and sat there, and watched her leave at 9:35. This would have given plenty of time for me to use the booth. I even asked if i could wait until she got done and see where we were at with time. He said, “unfortunately no”. He was happy to cancel my membership, so I’m happy to not have my credit card charged anymore. Guys like this are the the reason businesses fail. Owners higher people like this in order to save money, but it ends up costing them more money than if they took the time to hire someone with integrity and any sense of customer service.

Palm beach tan took over my former tan place. My package i paid for was transferred. I tanned there about two times and it was ok despiye the receptionist lack of product knowledge. Today i went to tan and apparently the tans expire…without any notice. The assistant manager told me I was out of luck and my tans i already paid for are gone. She also did nothing to resolve the issue at all or offer for me to buy an additional package. Guess I’ll go tan somewhere else with better customer service.

I usually like going to get airbrush spray tans where a person actually sprays the tan on, but I decided to try out this Darque Tan because I needed a last minute spray tan before leaving for spring break vacation (even though they only use the spray tan booths). I was a little iffy trying this place out since it barely had any reviews and the few that were there were not very good review. However, I went in and the girl at the front desk was very polite and explained the spray tanning technique and color options since I needed reminding (I am not a frequent tanner, just for special occasions). I told her I did not want to look orange, and she recommended the “clear” “2” color for my fairly pale skin. I went into the room with the spray tan booth and the room/booth was mostly clean, however, the robe on the door did have some of the tanning color stained on it. This didn’t bother me much though because I didn’t need to use the robe. The spray tan took about 5 minutes with an automated voice instructing you on what positions to stand in along with a diagram on the wall for visual learners. Immediately after the tan, it did not look as though I was any darker, but I knew I needed to wait for the tan to set for a few hours. It has now been about 6 hours since I got the tan and it looks even and not orange, and just dark enough to look pretty natural! I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this tan and this salon, especially for a spray tan that was only $10!
