I don’t usually take the time to review businesses online, but in this case, I felt like it was necessary. Palm Beach Tan has to be one of the most scammy businesses I’ve ever visited. They get you in with “unlimited tanning for 1 month for $14.99,” via an onine coupon, but once you get in there, you realize they’re going to charge you at least $65 for your first month (“$50 member activation fee”). Of course, I know you can’t run a business selling a month of tans at $14.99, but they could be more up front about it in the fine print on their ads. Although I feel like it’s deceptive advertising, I went ahead and signed up anyway for their package that was $59.99 a month (not including the one time $50 activation fee). Then of course, when I get my first bill, they have me signed up for one of their highest cost packages at $94.45 a month, which they have now billed my credit card for 3 separate times. This is despite the fact that I have brought it to the staff’s attention 3 separate times – since I noticed it the first month – and I’m always told “a manger will call me back to straighten it out” which of course never happens. I didn’t stutter when I signed up for the package, and I was very clear what I wanted. Unfortunately, they have high school and college age kids working up there who work on commission and they’re obviously intentionally throwing on the extra monthly charge so they get their commission… hoping management doesn’t catch on I presume. I know this is not a unique experience by me either. On 2 other occasions, when I was checking in, I overheard two other current customers say the same thing about being over charged and the manager never calling them. Don’t use this business. Take your business somewhere else in town!

So I came here a month ago having no prior experience with tanning whatsoever which I told the staff. I was misinformed about the tanning beds (as far as use, I know it sounds stupid but I was not aware that they close because I had never seen nor been in one before and no one notified me) I ended up with a dark line on my butt/legs on one side. I decided I wasn’t going to come back and it was within the 30 days for cancellation which states on their website they will refund you the amount you paid for membership minus your sessions if you are unsatisfied. When I went in with this information they stated that they would have to speak to the manager and call me back. I never received a call or refund. They do not adhere to the policies stated on the website. Everyone here is kind but it was just a bad experience overall, a ton of money wasted and an embarrassing dark line on one side. Can’t recommend.

I came in months ago and purchased the very basic package at 14.99 without my knowledge they changed my package to whatever cost 43.99 a month and have been ripping me off without my knowing. When I called them about it. They told me they couldn’t look up transactions. They are thieves. Ill never come back here and will share this with everyone.

I have been a member of PBT for years, maybe 10 years now and I only use spray tan booths. I am very upset to know they got rid of Versa Pro booths and transitioned to cheapy booths they made under their own brand. I tried one out last time I went when I discovered they got rid of the booth (they used to have two Versa Pros!) it was horrible and barely showed up on my skin even though I got the dark color and bronzer added. Total rip off for what I pay a month. You could do a double pass on Versa Pro which is what made it so dark none of the other booths work this way, complete disappointment and terrible business decision by PBT. I will be canceling my membership because I can do a better sunless tan at home.

Forgot to change this rating two years ago after experiencing an issue with trying to stop my account. I was charged for two months after canceling my membership. Once I finally got ahold of someone after calling for days they said I needed to come in and sign a document to officially stop my membership. Went in and did so which was ridiculous and a waste of my time since I didn’t want or need to tan. To top it off a few months after the incident they send me and email saying I am receiving a special discount etc. Which was a nice gesture. Come a day later I get another email from them saying this was a mistake and for me to still come see them. They should have honored the original email since they obviously were not supposed to send it to me. This companies values and morals are all wrong. Find another location to tan. Unfortunately Texas doesn’t have many local owned salons.

This unfortunately was a poor poor experience for myself. I had an emergency surgery and contacted the location and spoke with the manager and was told my account would be placed on “Hold”. I was recovering and never told I had to come into the location to hold or cancel my account. After 3 months realized I had been charged for the last 3 months and contacted the store manager. She said she would get in contact with my boss and get back to me.. In Jan and never did. I called and left messages for her with no response. Now covid happened.. Now I am told they will not refund my money due to being over 90 days. Poor business practices and poor customer service. They have no problem taking your money from your account but a refund is apparently out of the question. I have reached out to there main offices and apparently it’s not only the store with poor customer service but the company. Beware. Don’t sign up for services with this company!

Normally they are soooo amazing. That being said last time I went the lady told me my room number so I walk back there. It obviously hasn’t been cleaned. The towel was unfolded and had tanning lotion on it, the lotion was still in the room. Walking back up to the front I notice NONE of the rooms even looked clean. She ended up cleaning it for me (idk how well) but it’s clear she didn’t even sanitize the goggles and get me new ones seeing as I have pink eye in both eyes now. I shouldn’t have to be worried about the cleanliness

I like they have tanning prices for everyone. I’m not so pleased that they are doing renovations during tanning hours and there is dust everywhere. It should be cleaned up throughout the day. I don’t want to breath that into my lungs. I could put my membership on hold, but I’d rather the business keep the area clean if that amount drywall dust it’s frustrating.
